tony stark ≫ undeniably in love with you

You lay entangled in the cosy bed sheets with none other than Tony Stark, your best friend. His breath on the nape of your neck, causing goosebumps all over your body. He gently drew patterns over your bare back with his fingers.

He had been having an affair with you for the past few months, going behind Peppers back to be with you. As bad as you felt about the fact that you were lying to one of your friends, you couldn't bring yourself to break it off with Tony, you were to attached to him now. No one thought anything of the affection you both showed each other, they would just assume it's because you were so close and that it didn't mean anything, especially because Tony was in a relationship. Of course, it meant everything. The eye contact you would make with each other at parties, desperate to be with each other. The constant 'footsie' you would play with each other in meetings. The late nights you spent with each other, talking about the anything and everything. It all meant so much to you. You just wished that it could be yours all the time and that you didn't have to sneak behind peoples backs and lie.

"(Y/N)." Tony breathed, his voice muffled by your hair. His fingers tracing over your bare hip.

"Yeah?" You asked, turning over to face him. He propped himself up on his elbow, his chocolate brown eyes looming down on you.

"Let's get out of this town." He said, a grin forming on his face at your confused expression.

"What?" Your eyebrows furrowed together. You sat up straight, pulling the covers up to keep yourself covered.

"Oh come on, let's get out of here, only for a few hours, we can go somewhere else. We could be away from everyone."

"Tony, you have to get home to Pepper." You sighed, getting out of bed to pick up your clothes that had been flung over your room during previous activities.

He pulled you back, placing light kisses on your neck. "No I don't, I'll tell her I got caught up."

An internal debate began in your mind. Do I stay, do I go?

"To heck with it, come on, let's go." You said, putting on your clothes.

"That's my girl."

"It's so beautiful." You whispered, looking up at the star filled sky. Living in a city was a major negative when it came to the sky. All the light pollution made it impossible to even see a star.

"It sure is, but not as beautiful as you." Tony winked. You burst out laughing at his comment. "Too cheesy?"

"Just a little bit." You chuckled to yourself. "But I liked it."

"Good, because I'm never saying anything like that again." Tony said, pulling you down to lie on top of him. Your legs straddled his stomach, not in a sexual way, it was just something you did when you were with Tony.
He brought you down into a side hug, both of you admiring the stars.

Your mind drifted off to another place, all you could think about is how Tony would also do this with Pepper. How the arms that you were in right now would hold Pepper every night. The lips you had kissed would also kiss another woman. You frowned at the thought of this happening. All of this made you become extremely jealous.

"I can't do this, I'm sorry." You abruptly sat up, pulling yourself out of Tony's embrace. You made your way back towards the car.

"What the hell, (Y/N)?" Tony grumbled, quickly following after you.

"Tony this isn't right, if your with Pepper then be with her. I don't want to be your second choice, I want to be your first but you're clearly love Pepper so we should just end this before it goes too far." You shouted.

"But (Y-"

"No buts Tony." You interrupted. "You need to choose. Me or Pepper, you can't have both of us."

Tony looked at you with pleading, almost desperate eyes. He quickly sighed.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N)." His looked at you sadly. Your heart dropped, knowing who he had chosen.

"I knew it. Please take me home, Tony." You walked back to the car. The whole ride you ignored, Tony. Silent tears fell as you looked out at the passing city.

It had been a few weeks since the incident with Tony. You hadn't spoken to him at all and you hadn't been to the tower. This had come as a shock to the rest of the Avengers because you used to spend every second of your life there, always with Tony.

You had decided to go to the towers but only to see Natasha.

"So what's up with you and Stark?" She asked as you watched some boring movie.

"What do you mean?" You questioned, acting oblivious to the situation.

"You know what I mean, (Y/N). You and Tony used to be attached at the hip, now you haven't spoken to each other in like what, two weeks. There's obviously something going on." Natasha spoke, her eyes intently staring at you, as if she was trying to ready you.

"Eh I need to go. Sorry Nat, bye!" You quickly stood up, grabbed your belongings and left the room. You were glad to have avoided her interrogation. You would have surely said something you shouldn't and landed Tony in warm water.

As you were rushing down the stairs you could hear a voice calling you. You turned around to see Tony walking about you.

"What do you want." You said, emphasising the hatred on the 'you'.

"I made a mistake (Y/N). You not talking to me for these past few weeks has been torture, complete and utter torture.
You are on my mind all the time." Tony's eyes were bloodshot, he clearly hadn't been sleeping. "I left Pepper."

"You what?!" You whisper-shouted. Your eyes widening.

"Why should I be with one woman when I know I no longer love her?" He spoke, stepping closer to you. "Why should I be with one woman when I know fine well I am undeniably in love with you?"

I'm so sorry this is so bad. I'm tired and it's late but I wanted to write something cause it's been like 3 days since I posted and I want to keep updates fairly consistent.

P.S. Iron Man 2 was on t.v tonight and I died. It's such a good movie and I love it so much. I love Natasha, she's so bad ass.
