Three years ago, during your second tour in the army, your base camp in Afghanistan had been attacked. Many were killed, and lots were injured. You had lost your left leg in that attack.

Now you wore a prosthetic, though you always wore jeans to make sure that nobody could see it. You were very insecure about it and felt that it didn't make you beautiful.

A few months ago, you were pulled into the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. and The Avengers Initiative. They had found out about your skill sit, your previous experience in the army and thought you would be a great recruit to the team. Even with your prosthetic, you were still just as good, if not better.

Director Fury and a few other high ranking officials were the only ones to know about your prosthetic leg, other than that you kept it covered and hidden from anyone.

When you joined The Avengers, you immediately began to fall for the mysterious Bucky Barnes. He had some sort of effect on you that no other man could.

Bucky and you soon became good friends, at first you thought it wouldn't be right of you to tell him how you felt after everything he had been through, but Bucky thought differently. After a few months of friends ship, he admitted to you how he felt and you got into a relationship.

Even though you and Bucky had been dating for a couple of months, you still hadn't told him about your leg.

Until now.

Bucky was in one of his moods again. He had them every so often. He would get insecure about his arm, about his past, which you completely understood.

"Don't touch me." He pulled away from you as you tried to comfort him. He stood up, pacing slightly.

"Bucky, what's wrong? Talk to me."

"I'm a monster, Diana. Don't you see?" He shouted, though it didn't affect you.

"No, actually I don't. I see a kind, loving, beautiful, but broken man. I see the man that I love and that everyone else around here loves. I see the man that could bring a smile to my face on even the darkest of days. I see the real Bucky Barnes." You spoke softly, placing a kiss on his cheek.

"But look at this, Diana!" He pulled his sleeve up and pointed at his metal arm. "It's disgusting, how can you love me when I have this."

You sighed slightly. Then decided it was time to come clean. You began to unbutton your jeans.

"Diana?" Bucky looked at you confused. "What are you doing?"

"I didn't think it would come down to this. But Bucky, you need to know that your arm is nothing to be ashamed of."

When you finished speaking, you pulled your jeans down to your ankles, before pulling them completely off.

Bucky's eyes travelled down your body and landed upon your prosthetic leg. His eyes widened, his mouth opening in shock.

"Is that a-"

"A prosthetic leg? Yeah. It is." You confirmed, feeling slightly self-conscious.

"Oh my god. Why didn't you tell me about it?" He asked, slowly walking towards you.

"Because I was embarrassed by it. It didn't make me feel beautiful, or gorgeous. Every time I would go to tell you and the team about it, Nat or Wanda would walk around in a pair of shorts and they would look great and I would change my mind because I have this stupid thing instead of a leg." You admitted.

"But you're beautiful. Why would you hate yourself?" Bucky asked, his real hand coming up to cup your face.

"And you're beautiful, handsome, gorgeous, funny, loving, caring. You're the most amazing man I've ever met. Why would you hate yourself?" You shot back, hoping to tackle his problem.

Bucky sighed, before leaning in to kiss you. He placed a soft kiss on your lips, his hand entangling in your hair.

You reached for his metal arm to place it on your waist, but he pulled it from your reach.

"Bucky, I did not just take my jeans off for nothing." You mumbled against his lips.

He chuckled against your lips, bringing his metal arm up around your waist and pulling you closer to his body.

"I love you so much, Diana." He whispered, pulling away from the kiss. He leaned his forehead against yours, looking into your eyes adoringly.

"I love you too, Bucky Barnes." You smiled, happy at what you had achieved by showing Bucky who you really were.
