You watched on in horror as alien type creatures wreaked havoc across the city of New York. One minute the citizens of the city were peacefully out shopping, going to work and going on with their daily life then next minute windows were smashing, people were screaming, cars were crashing, buildings were on fire, it was like something you would only ever see in a movie. You and a few other people had taken shelter in a small cafe, hoping that you would all make it out alive.

That hope was quickly taken out of your reach as 3 of the creatures bombarded into the cafe. You and the other survivors hid behind tables, chairs, counters - anything that would hide you from a possible deadly fate.

You tried to silence your breathing as much as possible, but it was no use, your quick ragged breaths were so loud. You made eye contact with the woman across the room from you who was hiding behind a small table. The fear in her eye's was like nothing you had ever seen before, it's was almost indescribable. Tears fell down her cheeks, her hands were shaking so badly.

Your eyes quickly flicked up behind the woman to see one of the aliens making it's way toward her location. You watched as it stealthily stepped over all the debris lying around the cafe. You tried your hardest to warn the women, but knew that if you made to much movement, you would also be found and quite possibly killed.

As the creature got closer, you could see the colour slowly drain from her face. She was so pale, her eyes were filled with horror. The alien raised it's gun-type thing, aiming it at the woman.

You turned your head just before he fired, the woman's pained scream filled the air. Your breath hitched in your throat, you were choking on your tears.

The aliens left the shop, thinking there was nobody left in there. When you were positive they were gone, you ran over to the woman. She lay in a pool of her own blood, the bullet looked as if it had went through her abdomen. She looked to be alive, but barely holding on.

"Miss, are you okay?" You asked her, your voice filled with panic. She looked up at you, her hand wrapping around your arm. "Stay with me, I'm going to get you help."

You looked around the shop to find a couple huddled in the corner. "You two, stay with her whilst I go get her some help." They both seem reluctant but eventually came over to the woman's side, coaxing the woman to stay awake.

Running out onto the street, you looked for a police officer a paramedic, anyone that could be of some help to the poor woman. Your eyes stopped on a woman with red hair in a catsuit, she looked to be fighting off the aliens so she would probably be your best source of help.

"Hey!" You called, your voice cracking due to the amount of smoke and fume's you were inhaling. You waved both your arms in the air in an attempt to grasp her attention.

"You with the red hair," she shot the last alien in the head, her head turning in your direction, she looked at you expectantly. "I need help, a woman has been shot in the lower abdomen, she's losing blood pretty fast, can you help?"

The woman strapped the small pistol to a case around her thigh before making her way across to you. You began making your way back to the shop, the mysterious woman following close behind.

You got to the shop, the woman was still alive but the couple had left her, typical. You made your way over to her.

"Hey, I got help. You're gonna be alright Miss.." You dragged on, hinting for her name.

"Kate, my names Kate."

The woman you had brought to help began examining Kate's bullet wound before speaking into an earpiece. "Bruce, if you haven't already went code green I could do with your help. I've got a woman losing a lot of blood."

She went silent, obviously concentrating on what the person on the other end of the earpiece was saying. "Yeah we're in that small cafe where Stark got arrested. Hurry up, I don't know how much longer this woman can hold on."

The three of you waited on this 'Bruce' person coming. You kept Kate from falling unconscious by talking to her and asking her questions about herself. You learnt that the red headed woman's name was Natasha and she's apart of The Avengers. You didn't believe her at first but then you remembered her skills at fighting off them aliens.

"Natasha!" A deep, male voice called from outside the cafe. Natasha's head whipped up at the sound of the voice.

"In here." She called, applying more pressure to Kate's abdomen.

A tan brunette man ran into the shop, clearly out of breath. When he took in the scene, he ran over to Kate's side, beginning to speak in a medical lingo that made no sense to you.

You sat beside Kate's hospital bed in an uncomfortable wooden chair. Her chest was slowly falling and rising. Her pale skin finally back to a tan colour. Her golden blonde hair spread over the pillow messily. The scratches scattered over her face were almost gone, as were yours.

After Bruce had helped Kate, ambulance came to take the both of you to hospital. You were not harmed severely so you were soon discharged but Kate was a whole other story. You had stayed by her side for almost a week after finding out none of her family lived in America.

Your headed turned to the door as it squeaked open. The red head, Natasha, from the other day slipped through the door, Bruce following in behind her.

"What are you doing here?" You asked, rising to your feet. Bruce smiled at you warmly, making your heart melt.

"We wanted to know if the both of you were okay, we weren't quite sure if she would have made it." You nodded in response to Natasha's answer.

"Well I'm going to go grab a coffee, either of you want anything?" You asked, heading over to the door. Natasha shook her head as if to say 'no', you looked over in Bruce's direction, waiting for an answer.

"I'll come with you, actually."

You and Bruce both left the hospital room and headed for the hospital food court. The silence was slightly awkward but it was soon broken by Bruce.

"So," he started. "How are you after, you know?"

"Well, I'm as good as anyone can feel after an alien invasion." You replied in a sarcastic tone, a smirk on your face. Bruce chuckled at your response. You heart slowly melted yet again.

"So I was wondering," you turned around to face him, gesturing for him to continue. "Would you maybe, possibly like to go out for dinner with me? I mean you don't have to to if you don't want to, I'm not forcing you to, it's completely up to you, I probably shouldn-" you put your finger up to his lips in attempt to shush him.

"I'd love to for dinner with you, Bruce." A smile appeared on his face, turning into a full on grin.

"That's great! I'll pick you up at 7, if you give me your address?" He asked.

"Sure, I'll look forward to it." You grinned to yourself, continuing your walk to the food court. You couldn't believe you had a date with such a handsome and sweet person.

Bruce smiled to himself, watching you walk ahead. He wondered to himself how he managed to get a girl as beautiful as you to go out with him.
