warnings; abuse, swearing. read at your own caution.

For the past 3 years, you had been Tony Starks assistant. Anyone would think you had it great, you were great friends with all the Avengers and due to your boss being a billionaire, you got payed loads, more than needed but you weren't going to complain. Don't get you wrong, you loved the Avengers and your job, it was just your boyfriend that ruined everything.

At first, Rick seemed like a great guy. He treated you like a princess, like you were the only person that mattered. This all began to change around 6 months into the relationship. He began to get mad at you for tiny little things, he would shout at you all the time. You thought that it was just a rough patch, maybe something had happened at work but boy were you wrong. Sooner than later, he began to hit you. If you had spilled a drink, he'd hit you. If you didn't iron his clothes, he'd hit you. If you walked in front of the tv while he was watching the football, he'd hit you.

It got increasingly harder to hide your bruises from the rest of the Avengers. If any of them did happen to see one you would dismiss it and say you had fallen down the stairs. Natasha had become quite suspicious of the contestant bruises, I mean, a person can only fall down the stairs, walk into a door and trip over so much, but she pushed off the horrible feeling she had a continued on with listening to your excuses.

You sat in front of your large round mirror, staring at your reflection. The girl in the mirror wasn't you, you had disappeared a long time ago. The girl staring back at you was empty, she had dark eyes, no longer filled with happiness and the fire that used to be there. She was covered in purple bruises. She had tears running down her face. This wasn't you.

You had been invited to another one of Tony's parties. You swear that man would throw a party for anything. Seriously, he would celebrate a party if he had managed to tie his shoe laces correctly.

You knew that you would have to attend this one after previously turning down most of the parties Tony had invited you to. You began to dab concealers, foundations, powders, anything to cover up the very noticeable bruises that were dotted over your body.

Once you were finally happy with the way the bruises were covered, you continued to put the rest of your make up on. Your signature red lips and eyeliner. Your hair was in loose curls, cascading down your back.

You had bought a jump suit to wear to the party but you were contemplating wearing it. You knew that it would increase the risks of someone seeing the bruises but you quickly brushed it off, you could just say you fell down the stairs. The jumpsuit was black, and silk. The neckline fell right down to above your belly button. You knew that it would make a certain super soldier blush.

After becoming Tony Starks assistant, you and Steve Rogers became very close. You would do everything together. You had quickly fallen for the captain but knew that he would never feel the same way. You were positive he was madly in love with Sharon Carter anyways. Then Rick came along and you finally thought your feelings for Steve had gone but really they had never left. You always found yourself trying to impress him and blushing when he complimented you but you knew you could never go down that road, Rick would most likely murder you, and that wasn't an exaggeration.

When you arrived at Stark towers, you could hear the booming music from the bottom floor. You knew that the party was already in full swing and that when you went up there at least 75% of the party goers would already be drunk.
