"One coffee for (Y/N)." The barista called your name, you stood up to collect your hot beverage, thanking them.

You turned to look for a seat. As your eyes scanned the coffee shop it became apparent that there were no seats. You sighed to yourself in disappointment, just great.

Your eyes fell on a dark haired man sitting in a booth on his own reading a book. You wouldn't normally intrude on someone's privacy but there was no where else to sit and there was no way you were going out into the torrential rain.

You made your way over to the man, building up the courage to ask if you could join him.

"Excuse me." You smiled, trying to grab the mans attention. He merely glanced up at you before turning his attention back to his book.

"What do you want?" He asked in an annoyed tone. Your eyes widened in shock at his obvious rudeness.

"There's nowhere else in the coffee shop. I was wondering if I could maybe sit here? I'll not bother you I just really needed somewhere to sit and read." You asked nervously.

"Why couldn't you bother someone else with your pathetic little problem?" He spat at you, his attention still on his book.

"Maybe because I thought you looked approachable but I guess I was wrong." You muttered. "You know what, it doesn't matter, I'll just go out into the pouring rain and enjoy my coffee there. Good day to you." You picked up your coffee from the table and turned away.

"Wait." You stopped at the sound of the mans voice. "You can sit."

He now had his full attention on you, his book now lying closed on the table.

"Thank you." You replied. You ignored the mans stare, taking out your book to read. Occasionally you sipped at your coffee.

"Apologise for my behaviour before." The man spoke up. You glanced up from your book to look at him. "I didn't mean to be so rude."

"Well you were. You were completely uncalled for." You stated, looking back down at your book.

"You enjoy reading?" The man asked, gesturing to your book.

You nodded. "Yes, I do. I'm assuming you do too?" You pointed to his book that he hadn't opened since you had sat down.

"Yes. It's an escape from this pathetic world." He answered. You nodded in agreement, chuckling slightly at his answer.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"(Y/N)." You gave it to him. "And yours?" You asked.

"Beautiful name for a beautiful woman like yourself." You blushed. "I'm Loki." He smiled.

So with this one I kind of wanted to bring in a more genuine side of Loki since not a lot of stories with him are like that.
