Since childhood, Steve, Bucky and yourself had been inseparable. You did everything together. The thing you like both about the two boys was that they never treated you like you were inferior to them because you were a girl, they treated you like their equal.

"You'll never guess what!" You squealed as you ran up to the two men. Your small heels clicked off the cobble streets.

The streets of Brooklyn were filled with life, soldiers waltzing around drunkenly, arm in arm with a woman. The sound of music seeped out from the clubs and into the streets, the sound encouraging lots of dancing in the streets.

"You finally got that pair of shoes you wanted?" Bucky joked, his eyes wandering to a tall blonde across the street, spurring a little bit of jealously inside you.

"No! I got accepted into the US Army!" You squealed, jumping up and down. Both Steve and Bucky whipped their heads round to stare at you in shock.

"What?" Steve gulped, reaching for your acceptance letter that you had held out to him. His eyes scanned over it quickly, taking it all in.

"Yeah! Well, technically I'm not actually on the front lines, I'm helping train the troops for some sort of science experiment. I'm not 100% sure what I'm actually doing, they said they'll explain it to me when I arrive." You explained to the two men.

"That's great doll! Maybe I'll see you out there sometime." Bucky winked, causing your heart to flutter. You'd been crushing on Bucky for the longest time but you knew that he wasn't a relationship type of guy, he was more of a girl, after girl, after girl type of guy, never staying with someone for more than 2 weeks.

"Yeah that's great, well done Lynds." Steve smiled, though you could tell his confidence was even more knocked back by the fact that both of his friends were in the army and he was getting rejected constantly.

"Don't worry Steve, I'm sure you'll be following in our footsteps in no time!" You reassured, grinning at him.

"So, what d'ya see way actually go dancing now?" Bucky spoke up, putting his arms around you and Steve and dragging you both to a club.

A knock sounded on your cabin door, breaking you out of your trance.

"Come in!" You shouted, placing the book you were reading down on your desk.

You smiled at the sight of your best friend Steve making his way into your room. He had changed a lot. He was now standing at about 6ft with a huge build but to you he was still the little kid that you knew from Brooklyn with a small build but the biggest heart.

"Steve! Didn't expect you back so quick! Where's Buck?" You asked eagerly, excited to see Bucky after a while apart.

Steve's face fell, his eyes filling with tears. Your smile instantly dropped, "Steve, what is it?" You asked, making your way over to him.

"Lynds, I'm-I'm so so-sorry." Steve choked, tears falling down his face, he was struggling to breath properly.

"Steve? What is it? Where is Bucky? What happened?" You questioned, a lump forming in your throat. You felt like you knew what was coming but you still had hope.
