Freaks: Year Two

Dear Ethan, Francis and Edgar,

This is the letter I know you have long awaited. Well, I know Ed has been. He was the one who requested it after all so Ethan I really hope you read out everything in case Francis or Edgar can't figure out a word. If you don't, I will know because they will tell me. You know that.

Okay, so as Edgar requested, I will now be telling you everything that has happened at Hogwarts while I have been here. I know you're eager to know everything.

Okay, so first off, me and Jasper did have a few problems, but don't worry about that. Everything is fine now. We had a few good long talks and I can't wait to see you all when I come home.

One of the first things that I did was meet the house elves. Do you three remember what a house elf is? In case you forgot they are a creature the magical world has. They help out around Hogwarts. Well, actually they cook and clean for all of the students. Jasper told me they don't get paid which I don't think is fair. However, I met one of the head elves. Their name is Jumpy. She helped me out when I was upset and she brought me to the kitchens and they are huge! So many different appliances and counters and floating objects as all the elves cooked at their assigned stations. It is quite orderly even though it looks chaotic to me with all the floating appliances and food. There were so many elves too. There are hundreds of them I am sure and they cook so much food. When I entered the kitchen, they all offered me different types of food and sweets. There was bread, potatoes, gravy, chicken, turkey, muffins, ice cream, every flavour of pie and cake and something called butterbeer. I think that's a magical drink. I have not tried it. If I do, I will let you know how it tastes. One of the elves named Peanut gave me a slice of apple pie. It was very nice of him. He is actually allergic to peanuts, funny huh? That his name is Peanut? I have to say I really like the house elves. I even met the young ones Jasper teaches. Yippy, Roony, MeMe, Dollie and Patti. I am pretty sure Yippy has a crush on Jasper. It is so cute.

Jasper and I had a good talk. I met some of his friends. I know you may remember some from over the holidays. Maryrose, Anthony and Christopher, and Harry, of course. I had my doubts about Christopher but he really is a good help. He helps Jasper with spells a lot. He is still a bit scary, he is not what I would call nurturing. Maryrose is really nice though. She gave me a sugar quill.

Do you guys remember how the American magical school was coming to Jasper's school this year? Well, I met one of the Americans. Her name is Meg. I don't even think her and Jasper were friends, we just sort of met, but she has been the one taking me to see classes as she has the opportunity to oversee the classes. This is where it gets interesting because she came up with this brilliant plan that I am one of the Americans so now it is a lot less suspicious! She even let me get sorted. It wasn't proper house sorting or anything, but I thought it was so nice that she did that. There are four houses at the American school, Wampus, Horned Serpent, Thunderbird and Puckwudgie. She floated the four little statues she had and whatever one fell into my hand was my house. Can you guess which one it was?

Well, I will tell you! It was Horned Serpent and before you say "that's impossible" Ethan, it was a fluke and Horned Serpent represents the mind so it is not the cool rebel house you think it is. Meg gave me those robes and taught me about the classes and I am acting as her foster brother. Her family apparently fostered kids before. Freaked me out, but it works. The first class I saw was Charms class. The professor is quite short, I think his name is Flitwick. He is very nice. Meg asked if muggles could use wands and they actually can but all they do is cause chaos and destruction so no Ethan, you may not have one. None of you except Edgar but that is when he turns eleven. It was so cool, though! The professor made it rain inside the classroom! I didn't even think that was possible, but with magic everything is, huh? Jasper can't do that spell yet. This was one of the older classes. Meg joked about us both using her wand to see what I can do Well, I think she was joking.
