The Great Hall was abuzz with chatters of excitement, all talking about the result of the game. It was already so different, Harry thought compared to only a few days ago where the hall had been so quiet and sombre.
He didn't complain though because he felt like this is what he would have wanted. It was not like everyone was just moving on and forgetting, the win was in honour of Derek Bell after all.
"It was soooooo amazing!" he heard Andy saying to her group of Hufflepuff friends. Her familiar, bright smile was back. That made Harry smile too. The game was really needed.
"Eat something mate," he heard Jasper say. Harry quickly nodded and dished some chicken out onto his plate. His eyes scanned the table. Andy was talking quite animantly to Jordan, signing along as she spoke. Jordan was smiling. Wyatt was talking quite quickly to Elijah who was just nodding along. Wendy was talking happily to Maryrose along with Ana and Drew. Garrett was eating a potato as Willow talked about how James Potter caught the snitch for the fourth time.
Most of everyone at the Hufflepuff table was talking to Marty and Jessica, the two Hufflepuffs that were on the All Star team. Marty was recounting the game step by step from her point of view and Jessica followed suit only in her own point of view.
The Headmaster soon announced how the All Star trophy could now be found always in Hogwarts Trophy Room and then went on to announce the Most Valuable Player which ended up being James Potter to no one's surprise. There was a loud applause and just when the Headmaster was about to continue in his speech there was suddenly a loud BOOM!
Jasper jumped, immediately looking that direction, trying to calm the thumping in his chest. Another boom. Another. "What was–"
"Somebody's settin' off fireworks!" Rubeus Hagrid called.
The Gryffindors started to run out of the Great Hall and soon everyone followed suit. As soon as they reached the entrance of the school they saw a burst of gold sparks erupt in the sky, quickly followed by a stream of blue that seemed to streak across the sky. Jasper's eyes were wide. "Wow!"
The whole school watched as different kinds of fireworks all went into the sky, some exploding in the air to look like glitter, others making a beautiful array of colours, others creating shapes that exploded into bursts of golden sparks and even ones that transformed into an image of a dragon.
After the firework display had finished, the school started to go back to their common rooms, but Jasper was stopped by someone calling his name. He turned and saw Meg running up to him.
Jasper smiled and met up with her. "Hey! Good job with the game. However, getting tangled up in the microphone must not have been fun."
"Let's just forget about that, shall we?"
"Hmmmm...forget? Debatable, but I will let it go for now."
Meg guffawed and rolled her eyes. "Alright. Fair. You still up for being pen pals?"
"Totally. By the end of summer we will be sick of each other."
Meg laughed. "Well, I do have some news. Don't tell anyone. We aren't sure, but it has been up for discussion..."
"What is it?"
"My family is thinking about moving to the UK," Meg answered. "Which means–"
"You'd be a student here!" Jasper finished.
"Yes, but we aren't sure," Meg said, quickly. "My parents were thinking about what I have told them from my time here and thinks it could be good for Bran to be around students like him. Being the only no-majborn isn't easy even if he is allowed in."
