Sweet dreams

~~~ Marshall's POV ~~~

She'd been given anesthesia again and been sleeping for several hours. I was still sitting beside her, I'd neither eaten or drinking anything for almost 6 hours, but I wasn't hungry nor tired. Haillie had looked after me and tried to get me to eat, but I answered only a single no.

I looked at Jessica, tears pushed when I noticed the mark after her ring on her finger. I took the ring from my pocket and looked down at the engraving: 'Marshall Mathers & Jessica Jackson'

I looked up at her hand again and leaned against her, I took her hand in mine and put the ring on her finger. I kissed her hand and dropped a tear from my eye, I sat back in my chair and sighed.

"Mmmh ..." I heard Jessica groaned and looked at her.

"Jessica?" The tears choked my voice, it made me sound like a damn teenager in puberty, I coughed. She groaned again and moved in the bed. "Baby?" I said and got up from my chair.

"Marshall ..." She groaned, I got a smile on my face. I felt a warm feeling inside me by that, she said my name in her sleep! I took her hands in mine and smiled to himself.

"I'm here! I'll always be here ..." I whispered gratefully, in fear of waking her.

"Marshall ..." She opened her eyes and looked straight at me, she was blank in her eyes and relax. She both looked and talked as if she was high, it was awful to see her that way. It wasn't my Jessica, there was one who had taken over the eager in her. She was clearly hurting, which also hurt me... "Marshall ..." She said with a scratchy voice and coughed. I smiled quietly to her.

"Go Back to sleep, I'll be here when you wake up ... "I said and got a deja vu, I remembered back to when I was in the hospital and woke up from the anesthetic, Jessica had said exactly the same to me and she kept her promise

She nodded sleepily and her eyes fell on her ring again, she smiled the warm smile of hers again, it made me smile too. She looked up from the ring and met my gaze.

"I love you ..." She said and a tear flowed from her eye. I leaned forward and wiped it away from her cheek.

"I love you too, go to sleep now ..." I said and kissed her forehead. She groaned and looked up at me when I was going to sit back in the chair. I stopped in the movement and met her eyes, we both froze.

~~~ Jessica's POV ~~~

I stretched my hand out to him, it felt like steel. I used all my strength and stretched toward him and pulled him against me as fast as I could, which certainly was very dull.

It felt like it took forever while I pulled him toward me. He got what I wanted, he grabbed my hand gently and I let it rest in his grip. He leaned toward me to our lips met again, he kissed me gently and quietly. I tried as best I could to repay the kiss, but I was too weak. When he broke the kiss and sat back in his chair, he was smiling and looked at me until I fell asleep.
