Anna's Pov

After David had finished carving out the styrofoam into a volcanoe, we started cutting and gluing pieces newspaper to it. Thus, making the painting process easier and more visible.

It was pretty much awkward silence the whole time. I had tried to steal glances at David, only to find him staring back at me. I looked down instantly, a blush creeping up my cheeks.

Stupid blush.

My internal scolding gets interrupted when David clears his throat. I waited for him to say something, but all he did was gaze at me.

What the heck?

"Do I have to wait a century for you to say something?!" I exclaimed, snapping him out of his daze.

He opened his mouth, but no words came out. Ugh, he looks ridiculous.

"Say it already! I'm tired of sitting here looking at your face. You look like a blubbering fish!" I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

David mumbled something under his breath, too quiet for me to catch. My patience had ran out on this guy.

I started turning back to the glue and newspaper, and spat "If you're going to be an idiot, I don't want to waste my time on you. Wait. Who am I kidding? You're already one!" I laughed humorlessly.

"No wait!" He shouted, grabbing my shoulder and turning me back around. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry for ditching you. I've regretted it. Seeing you walk by your self with one friend made me feel so bad. And... I miss you."

"I don't need your pity!" I spat, shoving his hand off my shoulder. "You have no idea how hard it was after you ditched me. Every night I cried, waiting for you to call. I tried calling you, but it turns out YOU BLOCKED MY NUMBER! So you say you miss me?! What a buttload of CRAP!" My voice started to crack. He didn't deserve me, not in a million years. He can't just expect me to forgive him. What a selfish fool.

I took a inhale of air, trying to control my nerves. "The only reason we are sitting here together is because of this ding dang project. Nothing more, nothing less. So NEVER speak of our past again. What's done is done. I don't need your pity. I just want to get this done and get away from you as soon as possible."

"U-u-umm.." David stuttered, taken aback from my sudden outburst. "I g-gotta go.. We'll continue tommorow yeah?"

"Yeah, whatever." I scoffed and held out my hand to the door.

He got up on his feet and started walking towards the door, with me in tow behind him.

I unlocked the door for him, and he walked out slowly and faced me.

"I'll see you at school tommorow. Bye." He waved awkwardly and made his way off the porch.

Once he was out of sight, I slammed the door shut and leaned my back against it.

Just like any other day... I convinced myself.
