Anna's Pov

The sunlight shined through the curtains of my window. The brightness beamed against my eyelids, but I layed still. I was about to open my eyes, but soft murmuring from above me kept me quiet.

"She looks horrible." I recognized a feminine voice as my mother.

"What do you think happened?" I heard my dad question.

What happened?

It only took seconds for the prior events from yesterday to come bombarding my head again. I broke my act as a sob broke out of my chest, catching my parents by surprise. I quickly sat up from my position, covering my face in my hands as tears continuously streamed down my cheeks. I was still wearing the same clothes that I wore yesterday, but I couldn't care less about it.

"Honey! Oh my goodness." My mom dove straight towards me. She wrapped her arms around me and engulfed me in a huge hug. It was a comforting embrace, but it could never compare to the feeling when David done the action.

"What happened pumpkin?" My father layed beside me. He tucked loose strands of my tangled strawberry blond hair behind my ear. The question caused me to bawl even harder.

"I-I.." As much as I strived to, I couldn't force myself to form any words. My breathing came out in short, ragged breaths.

My dad kissed my forehead and hugged me along with my mother. "Breathe baby breathe. Deep breaths, you can do it."

After a few moments, my breathing returned back to normal. My parents were here, and their comfort was something I truly needed. My cries were still uncontrollable, but I managed to utter out a stuttered, "D-David."

"David?!" They both shouted.

My father seemed infuriated. "That blond headed son of a-"

"N-no!" My stammers subsided, and I tried with all my might to speak. "He's m-mad at me. I didn't k-know what to do. I didn't know! I didn't know!" My tone became louder with every word as panic started to course through me.

"Honey, start at the beginning. Shh, take your time." My mom instructed softly, wiping my tears away with her thumb.

"W-we were suppo-osed to hang out after s-school." I began shakily. "W-we were going to the ice cream shop; a place we would usually go to every week. When I came there, t-there was this g-guy; Louis. We used to be very good f-friends, but I later found out it was all a sham made by a girl named Ava, who hates me. When I arrived at the café..."

By the time I had finished my explanation, I was in shambles. I kept mumbling "No, no, no, no." under my breath, and I glanced at my parents for their responses.

"Well, it wasn't your fault." My mom hesitantly started. "You couldn't do anything about it. What happens, happens. If I were you, I would probably try to explain to him what really happened."

"Oh really?" I sarcastically replied. "Because I was thinking the exact opposite."

"Oi, be nice. I'm trying to help." She scolded, but I could see the smile that she was trying to hide.

"Okay, but how? I literally pounded at his front door yesterday, and I know for a fact that he would never even spare a glance at his phone if I ever sent him a text or called him. This situation is pretty hopeless."

"Well, think about how he feels right now." My dad answered. "I also know for a fact that you would do the exact same thing."

"Yeah," I shamefully sighed. "You're probably right. But how could I even speak to him if he refuses to talk me?"
