I looked at the time and it was 5:01. Calum was making dinner and Michael went to get the mail. Luke asked me in the living room, "Nicole, have you had any problems at school at all?" I looked at him and said, "Umm, what do you mean?"

Luke: Well I mean, is there something that's maybe happened at school that you would like to talk about? Like, maybe Mr. Miller quitting his job last minute?

Nicole: Oh, yeah! But wait, how did you --

Luke: I found out from the school.

Nicole: But I didn't even get a slip like I was supposed to today.

Luke: Nobody did. Every parent got phone calls.

Nicole: Oh.

Luke: But even then, why didn't you tell me?

Nicole: Well I don't know. I just didn't. I forgot. I was too busy thinking about the party I wanted to go to.

Luke: Whose party?

Nicole: Ri --

Luke: Nope.

Nicole: Well yeah, I know I can't go. Ashton already told me. But honestly, Luke, there isn't anything wrong with her.

Luke: You're right. Riley is a normal human being. But her behaviour is very --

Nicole: Disrespectful?

Luke: Well, yeah.

Nicole: She's not as mean as you think she is.

Luke: Last time she came over she greeted me by calling me Mr. 6-pack.

Nicole: Oh.

Luke: You still have two other friends to hang out with, Nicole.

Nicole: Luke, you don't understand. You can't defriend one person without defriending your other ones.

Luke: First of all, defriending is not a word. Second of all, it's a big school and there's many other people to hang out with.

Nicole: So you're saying that in order to defriend one person, I need to defriend them all?

Luke: That's not what I said and once again, defriend is not a word.

Nicole: So what do you want me to do, Luke? Defriend every single girl I know just to stay away from Riley???

Luke: Is your hearing alright?

Nicole: Ha, I'm just messing with you. But, Luke, now I'm serious. I think I should get to choose my friends. Not you.

Luke: Nicole, don't be like that. I am supposed to be looking after you so maybe it is my choice after all.

Nicole: Excuse me? (Crosses arms)

Luke: Excuse you? (Crosses arms)

Nicole: (unfolds arms) Okay, I'm sorry. But please give Riley a chance. You don't know her that well.

Luke: I know her enough to know that she is not a good friend to you.

Nicole: Luke, she is a great friend!

Luke: Don't raise your voice at me.

Nicole: Just give her a chance, Luke. Please?

Luke: ... (Sighs) Fine. I'll give her a chance.

Nicole: Yay!

Luke: But this party isn't going to be it.

Nicole: I'm sorry, what?
