Chapter 73

No boys? I mean, wow. I'm sure that when I get to high school, this rule is going to haunt me. Just glancing at a boy in the halls would be depressing, thinking, "I guess I have to stay away from him too, don't I?" *Sigh*

Anyway, I shouldn't let this ruin my plans of having the best year at high school ever. Only 2 days till my orientation, and 6 till the real thing! Hope it goes well.

While thinking about it, I got a text from Emma. Wow, it's been awhile since I've talked to her.

Emma: hey Nicole!

Nicole: hey Emma. It's been awhile since we've talked

Emma: well u know high school's been busy.

Nicole: hey I was just thinking about it. I don't believe I've ever asked u how it is

Emma: I don't think u have asked me. But it's pretty good. I mean, I hate the workload and homework every single night, but I've made a whole bunch of new friends

Nicole: what about Taylor and Jessica?

Emma: what about them? They've gone and made new friends too

Nicole: wait srsly? Why?

Emma: well we've kind of gone our separate ways. It's a bigger school now Nicole. We couldn't just keep the same friend base forever

Nicole: why not? Jessica and Taylor were great friends

Emma: I know that. It's just that there r other people in the school too Nicole. And plus they both have boyfriends now

Nicole: really? Do u?

Emma: no but I've got my eye on someone in my science class 😉

Nicole: sounds interesting

Emma: do u want a boyfriend when u get to high school?

Nicole: not allowed one 😒

Emma: what r u talking about? That makes no sense. You've had them in the past

Nicole: yeah but that was the past, when I was "younger". I was literally just told by Michael that I can't have a boyfriend in high school because in high school, guys r more likely to pressure me into doing things I don't wanna do

Emma: that's true. But who's Michael?

Nicole: r u srs? I'm almost 100% sure I've told u about him

Emma: U probably have. I've got a really bad memory tho. Whatever. Anyway, this "Michael" u speak of has a point. Last year I was offered a smoke 🚬 😅

Nicole: that's not the same tho. Btw u did say no right?

Emma: .....

Nicole: EMMA.

Emma: Lol yes I said no!!! Obviously! Who do u think I am??? Haha 😂😂😂

Nicole: that's not funny.

Emma: sure it is! Anyway sorry. But as I was saying, guys can be more pressuring. I haven't experienced any guys do that to me cuz I haven't had a boyfriend in high school before

Nicole: well consider yourself lucky then.

Emma: ur a smart girl Nicole. Why can't ur brothers see that ur mature enough to just say no?

Nicole: they're not like that Emma.

Emma: they seem pretty strict. They've seemed like that for forever tho

Nicole: well it's not like they're going to change. It's just how they do their thing

Emma: yeah. well I feel bad for u

Nicole: that doesn't make me feel any better

Emma: i wasn't trying to. But if u want me to make u feel better, I'm pretty sure Jessica's no longer a virgin

Nicole: What the heck Emma???????? 😵😵😵😵

Emma: what??? It's true. But Taylor and her boyfriend don't even hold hands in the halls so I'm pretty sure she's still pure.

Nicole: I'm done.

And with that, I stopped texting Emma. Honestly. I put my iPod down and left it there not even bothering to read the next texts.

But within the next 5 minutes, I got sooooo many messages from her. So I picked my iPod back up, skimmed them all (I didn't read them each individually), and made my decision to say: "one more txt about Taylor or Jessica's boyfriends and I'll block u Emma. U went too far."

I waited for her to text back.

Emma: I don't understand what I did wrong.

Nicole: u may have been joking Emma but that's some serious stuff. Besides it's not ur business to guess who's done what with who

Emma: but I'm right Nicole. Jessica always seemed like the kind of girl to do that in grade 9.

Nicole: I'm officially blocking u Emma. How dare u?

And with that, I blocked Emma and didn't text her again.
