Chapter 20

For the whole ride, everyone tried to talk me into talking about Matthew. I ignored them all. Eventually I ended up getting my needle. But you know what? After being so angry at everyone, I ended up taking it very well. I was quiet and not a tear escaped my eyes. Only 'cause my mind was somewhere else at the moment. I didn't even let the boys come in to support me while getting the needle. When it was over, the woman put a bandaid on my arm and I exited the small office. I saw everyone in the waiting room and Harry said, "Hey, how'd it go?" I responded in small talk and said, "Fine." We all went out to the car and Louis said, "Listen, Nicole. We're all very sorry for trying to make you talk. It's really none of our business."

Nicole: It's okay. 😒

Liam: No, really. It's not. If you were okay with breaking up with Matt, that's fine with us.

Nicole: Um, yeah. 😳

Niall: So we good?

Nicole: Yeah. We're good. 😕

Harry: Great.

When we got home, everyone came inside and Calum was in the living room. He saw us come in and said, "Oh, hey! Nicole, how'd the needle go?" I had to act completely cool as if nothing was on my mind and everything was okay. I said, "Oh, it was fine. Kinda hurt but I didn't cry." He laughed. Calum said to the guys, "Hey, you want something to eat?" Everyone said sure and they made their way to the kitchen. I ate lunch before getting my needle so I was good. I went to the living room to watch some eNews and check if this break up has gone viral yet. I haven't watched eNews in like, forever. I need to catch up on some things. All they talked about was Justin Bieber's new album, Adele's famous song, "Hello", and Louis Tomlinson's new baby. Nothing about me and Matt's break -- HOLD UP. LOUIS TOMLINSON'S NEW BABY?!?!? With who?!?

eNews: Louis Tomlinson's new baby with Briana Jungwirth has been talked about by everyone.

I have never heard the name, Briana Jungwirth before. Man, I really am behind. They showed a picture of Briana and I said to the screen, "Come on! She's not even pretty!" Louis came out of the kitchen and saw me. He said, "Whatcha' watching?" I saw him and before I could change the channel, he noticed what I was watching. He didn't seem surprised. In fact, he didn't really have any expression. He said, "Ah, they're talking about Briana. Have you ever met her before?"

Nicole: Uhh, no.

Louis: Oh, well she's really nice.

Nicole: Well I'd assume so. You're having a baby with her.

After saying that, I regretted it immediately. It just popped out of my mouth. I gasped and said right after, "OMG. I am so sorry. That was really rude. Um, it just came out and -- " He interrupted me and said, "Hey, it's okay. I just want you to know one thing, Nicole." He sat down beside me and I got worried. What was he going to say?

Louis: Briana and I are still trying to work things out but we're not exactly... Together, I'd say.

Nicole: You're not?

Louis: Nope. In fact, me and Eleanor are trying to work things out.

Nicole: Oh, thank god! Eleanor is wayyyy prettier than Briana.

Louis widened his eyes in shock. I gasped and this time I was speechless. Again, it just popped out and I knew that no apology was going to fix this one so I just said, "I'm gonna go now." I stood up ready to leave until Louis pulled me back down and said, "Hey, it's okay, Nicole. I know you didn't mean anything by that." I smiled faintly and said calmly, "I'm really happy for you and Eleanor." He nodded and said thanks. While in the moment of talking about relationships, I really felt like telling the truth about me and Matt. But then again, I'm utterly embarrassed by what had happened. I don't know if I should tell him. And it was shown on my face too. Louis said, "Nicole, is something wrong?" By then, I had made up my mind of what I was going to say to Louis.
