SHOUTOUT TO nicole31ashley
She's been a great help to this book! Be sure to follow her! When the whole bird incident blew over, everybody forgot about it. I started to actually like Arzaylea a bit more because she was so nice. And pretty. I wish I looked like her. Anyway, when Arzaylea left at 4:00, we all went back to our own business as I went upstairs to go to the washroom. Yes, I know I don't usually describe my washroom experiences, but this wasn't any normal washroom experience. When I had sat on the toilet, I saw red. Lots and lots of red. I had seen it on my underwear and stopped doing what I was doing. It's started. Puberty. I should've expected this to happen now that I'm 13. Oh, God. Why didn't I have this much blood in the morning? Maybe it's just something to do with my body and the way it works. But what am I supposed to do? I need pads. And the only way to get them was to ask one of the four guys in the house. Guys. GUYS. Why couldn't Arzaylea wait a bit longer to leave? My mind was pounding with all these thoughts and I knew I needed to do something fast. So I took a HUGE WAD of toilet paper and placed it on my underwear. I stood up and pulled my pants up feeling an enormous amount of uncomfortableness (if that's a word). I walked awkwardly out of the washroom and to Calum's room. I mean, he is the one I'm closest to, both figuratively and literally. I should probably tell him first. I knocked on his open door and stood in the doorway. He looked at me and said, "Oh, hey, Nicole. What's up?" I decided to walk in to get closer so I wouldn't have to say what my situation was loudly. I had to really think about how I was going to put this. How to say it and make it not awkward. I gulped and said to him, "There's blood," quietly. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and said, "What?" I took a deep breath and thought of another way of saying it. I tried again continuing my sentence saying, "On my underwear." Seconds later, his eyebrows unfurrowed and he mumbled to himself, "Of course. Oh, dear. What do I do now?" But he wasn't even talking to me. He was literally talking to himself. He said, "Oh, what now, what now? Uh, pads. She needs pads now. Like, right now." He was freaking out and I was quite confused. Was this more stressful for him than it was for me? He then called Ashton. "Ashton! I need you!" Ashton came into the room seconds later and was like, "What's the problem?"
Calum: It started, Ashton. It's happening.
Ashton: What's happening?
Calum: Blood. Down there. Girl problems.
Ashton: 🤔 Oh, my god. 😳
Nicole: Umm, okay, it's not that big of a deal. I just --
Ashton: Get Luke. He needs to call Arzaylea back here.
Nicole: *sighs* 😒
Calum: LUKE!
(Luke comes up to Calum's room in a matter of seconds)
Luke: What's up?
Ashton: Call Arzaylea back here.
Luke: What? Why?
Calum + Ashton: BLOOD. DOWN THERE. GIRL PROBLEMS.
Everybody was FREAKING OUT. It was crazy. If I had known they'd react this way, I wouldn't have told them. I guess they've never really been in a situation like this before so this is how the choose to address it.
