After lunch, I was just waiting for Arzaylea to leave but she just kept on yapping to Luke. I was on the couch watching eNews with Michael. Ashton and Calum were upstairs, so they didn't know I was watching eNews, and Michael wasn't aware that I wasn't allowed, so I took that to my advantage. And besides, Michael wasn't even watching. He was on his phone.
I whispered to Michael since Luke and Arzaylea were standing just a few feet beside the couch, "What time is it?"
He checked his phone and whispered back, "1:08. Hey, do you know when Arzaylea's leaving?"
I replied, "She was supposed to leave like, 10 minutes ago. I don't know why she's still here."
"Geez, she makes me uncomfortable," said Michael.
I looked at him and asked, "Why?"
He looked at Arzaylea, then back at me and whispered, "Her makeup, her clothes, her hair. Everything about her is just..."
I continued his sentence at the same time that he did as we both said the word, "overwhelming." But even though we were whispering, the fact that we said it at the same time made it a lot louder than it was supposed to be and Luke and Arzaylea both looked at me and Michael.
Michael quickly saved us by saying, "uh, this show. It's just so overwhelming." Arzaylea smiled and Luke and her kept talking.
Michael looked at me with wide eyes. The expression on his face said, that was close. We looked back at the TV and 5 minutes later, Arzaylea FINALLY left. Wow, that bitch just doesn't know when to shut up.
Luke said goodbye to her and she was out the door. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was keeping in. Michael decided to go upstairs and I was still watching TV.
When Michael left, Luke immediately walked up to me, grabbed the remote, and turned the TV off. "Hey!" I said.
He pointed at me with his finger and said, "First of all, don't think that I don't know that Ashton banned you from watching this show. I know you're not allowed, and I plan on informing Michael on that too." I could tell he was angry at me. But not just for watching eNews.
"Second of all, what was with you and Arzaylea at the table, huh?" Said Luke.
"What do you mean? I was being nice to her!" I replied.
"Really? 'Cause I'm almost 100% sure that you MEANT to insult Arzaylea in the first place. You may be really good at saving yourself, Nicole, but you're terrible at holding your tongue," said Luke furiously.
I wasn't offended by what he was saying. I was just a little let down by all the yelling.
"You need to change yourself, Nicole. THAT is what you need to work on this summer, you got that? Because I am not going to accept this natural bratty personality from you. I want you to have manners, and show some respect to people. Do you understand me?" Continued Luke.
"Yes," I said quietly.
"Good," said Luke. He then tossed the remote back on the couch without turning the TV back on and walked away.
I didn't want to watch TV anymore though. I just felt this feeling in my stomach of sadness, and it just kept pounding there. So I stood up without turning the TV back on and walked upstairs to my room. I didn't close the door because I didn't want anyone to think I was isolating myself because I was sad. Luke was yelling pretty loudly, so I assumed Calum, Michael, and Ash heard it all. I didn't want to show sadness. I didn't want to come off as weak just because Luke yelled at me.
So I pulled out my iPod and sat on my comfy bed and decided to distract myself from everything else. Wanna see what my new bed looked like?
VOÍLA! The bed that Calum bought me from Ikea after I threw up on it a month ago. It was sooooooooooo comfy.
I was listening to music for quite some time. But while I was on my iPod, I saw from the corner of my eye a blurry figure in my doorway. I looked past my iPod and saw Ashton there with furrowed eyebrows. I paused my music and took my headphones out.
He said, "Nicole, I've been calling you for the last 5 minutes. What are you doing?"
"Sorry, Ashton," I replied, "I didn't hear you. What do you need?"
"I wanted to ask you what you wanted to choose as your elective for high school," said Ashton.
"What are the choices?" I asked.
"Art, Music, Drama, or Tech," said Ashton.
"Art," I said without hesitation.
"Really? Are you sure you wouldn't rather choose music?" Asked Ashton.
"I'm sure," I replied.
He said, "Okay then. I put that on the paper and give it to the school then."
I nodded my head and Ashton walked away.
