Chapter 62

It was 3:29 and I went into the living room with my apple. Calum was gone and there was no one there. I quickly went to the TV and checked to see if eNews was on. Nobody was there so they wouldn't know I was watching it. Maybe it was a repeated episode in the same day. It was just ending though. Dang it. I decided to watch some Girl Meets World instead.

10 minutes in, I got a text. I was hoping that it was from Beau! And I was just in luck. He had replied to my text!

Beau: of course I remember u. How could I forget such a beautiful face like yours? 😉

I was so happy, I almost squealed. I thought about what I should text back. I didn't want to come off too desperate or anything, but I didn't want to play hard to get.

All of a sudden, Ashton came down the staircase from behind the couch and I quickly turned off my iPod. I didn't want him to see who I was texting.

I was just hoping that Ashton wouldn't come sit with me. Eventually, I found out that he was just going into the kitchen.

I turned my iPod back on and sent out the quickest thing I could think of. I didn't want him to think I died in the last 3 seconds that he texted me.

Nicole: Aww that's so sweet

He texted back within seconds.

Beau: So whatcha doing right now babe?

Nicole: um babe?

Beau: yes?

Nicole: why did u call me babe?

Beau: cuz u r my babe. Don't u know?

Nicole: we haven't really gotten a chance to get to know each other have we Beau?

Beau: I'm sorry. If u r uncomfortable with me calling u babe, I won't. Forgive me. I will be patient for us to get more serious to be throwing those kind of names around

Nicole: thank u for understanding Beau. That really means a lot to me 😊.

Beau: no problem Nicole. 😄 so u never answered my question

Nicole: oh right. I'm watching girl meets world on tv

Beau: sounds cool. I'm still at the mall with my guitar

Nicole: still? Wow. Btw I never got a chance to tell u that u were a great guitar player

Beau: why thank u. I'm still practising though. Going in public is going to give me a chance to be famous.

Nicole: so u want to be famous?

Beau: well I think it'd be nice. all that money would be so warming. And btw, don't think that I don't know who u r.

Nicole: ???

Beau: sorry that came off weird. I mean I know that u live with 5 seconds of summer. I saw Michael Clifford at the mall first and I knew the girl beside him had to be u

Nicole: oh ok lol

Beau: I'm sorry I have to get home before dinner. I'll talk to u later Nicole bye

Nicole: ok bye Beau

Then we stopped texting. I turned my phone off and Calum came back downstairs and sat on the couch with me. He watched Girl Meets World with me... For like, 4 seconds. Then he asked, "Can I have the remote?"

I replied, "Sure," and handed him the remote. Calum changed to Daily Planet.

10 minutes of watching Daily Planet, I really needed to stand up. My butt was getting numb. I picked up my iPod and stood up.

I walked to the side of the couch and turned my iPod on. Thought maybe I'd look at Pinterest. It's the only social media I have, and it's barely social media.

I don't look at DIYs really. I look at just funny pictures that people have posted. Yes, Pinterest has those too.

Ashton came out from the kitchen and said, "Hey, Calum. Wanna hear a joke?"

Calum said, "No, thank you, Ashton."

Ashton said, "What do you call a person with no body and no nose? ....."

He paused for a second.

"Nobody knows!" Said Ashton.

Calum facepalmed clearly trying to hold back a smile. He didn't like that he was laughing. He mumbled, "So stupid. Shut up, Ashton."

Ashton started to laugh hysterically though. I looked at Ashton and even I couldn't hold back a smile. The joke wasn't even that funny. It was just Ashton's laugh that made me laugh.

I swear, Ashton is the only person who can say stupid jokes and make it funny because -- Let's be honest -- his laugh is the real punchline.
