Right before I was going to tell Austin the truth, my stomach growled and before I knew it, my entire dinner came back up and ruined my beautiful pink floral bedsheets. That's right, folks. You guessed it. I puked up my dinner and didn't get to text Austin back. I heard a chime. Looking to my iPod on the right, Austin asked, "u still there?" I HAD TO TEXT BACK! I didn't want him to think I chickened out and didn't want to play basketball with him and his friends, even though I didn't. But I couldn't stop puking. And right when I stopped, Michael came in and said, "Oh, my god! Nicole, what happened?" I knew I must've looked like a wreck to Michael. I quickly turned off my iPod before he got to my bed and I walked off. I took another look at my sheets to see a splatter of my dinner ALL OVER my bed. I didn't see one bit of pink or even a flower on my bed. I was sad about it. I sat on my chair near my desk and that's when Ashton came in. He said, "Awww, Nicole. Are you okay?" He came over to me. "Yeah," I replied. Michael said, "It looks like the sheets bled through the entire bed. It's not gonna wash off." That's when I got really depressed. Not only was I in a situation that I couldn't text Austin back, but I just lost my beautiful bed! It was so frustrating. Austin was taking over my brain though. Luckily, I had grabbed my iPod before getting off my bed. Ashton took me to the kitchen, grabbed some paper towel and started wiping my shirt. To be honest, I did not have the strength to do it myself. He said to me, "I'll check if you have a fever. You might not be able to go to school tomorrow." I had to remind him that I was suspended. "Um, Ashton? Either way, I'm not going to school tomorrow. I'm suspended. Remember?" He then said, "Oh, right. I forgot." Then he smiled. He told me to go grab some clothes from my room and change in the washroom and then he'll go put my clothes in the washer. I did as he asked. When I got to my room, I saw Michael and Luke in there taking the last layer of sheets off my bed and when I got my clothes, I walked out and into the washroom. I pulled out my iPod that I had put in my pocket and quickly texted Austin the truth. The puking truth. Not the other truth.

Nicole: I'm sorry 4 not txting back right away Austin. I felt sick and I threw up before I could text u back 😷. I was going to say sure but I guess my answer has to change now. Maybe another time though. Sorry 😓

Austin: Aww that's totally fine. Sorry u had to go through that. I hope u feel better soon 😘

My heart pounded hard. Did you see that? He just sent me a KISSY face. But not the one with just the duck lips (😚), but with the heart coming out of the mouth too! That means a KISS. Was he trying to give me a kiss? Wait, no. I have met a few people in my life who give love very passionately to anyone they see simply because it's their personality. What if it's just Austin's personality? Yeah. That's probably it. I'll ask Emma. I texted Austin back saying, "thx! 😊," and then I turned my iPod off and changed my clothes. I washed my hands with soap and then held my clothes and put them downstairs in a basket where the washer and dryer were. I came out and Luke came out from my room and down the stairs. He said, "Nicole, I don't think you can sleep in that bed anymore."

Nicole: What? Wait, you mean I don't have a bed?

Luke: For now. Me and Michael and are going to move your bed out get you a new one.

Nicole: Really?

Luke: Yes.

Nicole: But where will I sleep until then?

Luke: Well I was thinking you could sleep on this couch but since you're sick, I don't think it'd be the best choice for you because it would probably make you very uncomfortable. You're going to need to sleep on a real bed so I'm going to sleep down here on the couch and you can sleep in my room.

Nicole: Wow. But you need to be comfortable too, Luke, sick or not.

Luke: It's okay. I'll be fine. The couch is not that bad.

Nicole: Thanks, Luke. You're awesome.

Luke: Yeah, I know I am.
