THE NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL

Walking through the halls was torture. All I could hear was whispering from the people around me. And how could I not notice the staring? I pretended not to notice and like I didn't even care but to be honest, it all made me very uncomfortable. I could tell people wanted to come up to me and say something but no one had the guts to. At the end of the day as I was just getting ready to go home, a group of girls a few feet away from me wouldn't stop staring and at that point, I had just had enough. I looked around to see anyone else in the halls and then I walked up to those girls and said, "Do you want a picture? Geez, take a good look and get on with lives, okay?" I started to walk away until one of the girls yelled to me, "I was a huge Nespinosa fan!" I stopped, turned around and said, "Yeah, well I have been stared at, talked about, yet ignored altogether at the same time and you think that after all that, I really care about Nespinosa anymore? It was stupid. Do me a favour and get over it." That's when I walked out of the building and got onto the bus.

When I got home, I was soooooo tired and everybody had compassion for me too. I didn't even have to explain to them how school was because I think they could guess. Michael told me to go upstairs and get some sleep and so that's what I did.

(4 HOURS LATER)

It was 8:03 PM and I had just woken up from a 4 hour nap. I got out of bed and went downstairs to see Michael and Calum in the living room. Michael saw me and said, "Well hello there, sleepyhead." I replied, "Hey. Um, where's Ashton and Luke?"

Calum: They went out. How was your sleep?

Nicole: It was fine. (Yawns)

Calum: Did you get your mind off of school at all?

Nicole: Yeah, I did.

Michael: Nicole, it was obvious that school today wasn't exactly peaceful, but I think if you don't wanna feel sad or unhappy, try not to care about what those people say to you.

Nicole: But it's not what they're saying to me. It's what they're NOT saying to me. They just stare at me in the hall thinking the worst of all scenarios.

Michael: Let them think what they think. They don't know the whole story.

Calum: And for what it's worth, I never even liked Matthew in the first place. 🙄

Michael: (rolls eyes) But, uh, did anyone say anything about Louis today?

Nicole: Nope. I'd be lucky if someone were to talk to me today though, whether it was about Louis or not. Barely anyone spoke to me.

Calum: Well what about your friends?

Nicole: They talked amongst themselves. I was just there.

Calum: I really wish there was something I could do to help.

Nicole: You could give Matthew a black eye for me.

Just as Calum was about to respond, I interrupted him and said, "I was kidding," and he had nothing to say after that.
