When we got home, Michael, Luke, and Calum were all standing up with their hands on their hips. They watched me and Ashton walk through the door and they were silent. I walked up to my room and closed the door and got ready to hear the conversation everyone was going to have.

Calum: Ashton, what happened?

Ashton: You know what happened. She punched a girl in the face.

Calum: I know, but... Why? It just doesn't seem like Nicole.

Ashton: We all know why she did this. It's Riley.

Oh, please. I rolled my eyes. Of all the reasons that I could've punched this girl in the face, you choose the one where Riley's the problem. 🙄 Give me a break.

Luke: Are you sure it's Riley? I mean, I don't think Riley's ever punched a girl before.

Ashton: She doesn't need to. Riley is a harsh girl. She teaches Nicole to be just as harsh.

Michael: I'm sure that can't be the case. Nicole's strong enough to not be influenced that easily.

Ashton: And she wasn't influenced easily. This is just the beginning of the terrible things Nicole is going to do at school and it's all because of --

Calum: Don't say that, Ashton. We can't guarantee Nicole is going to do more wrong things in the future. We just have to teach her what's right and what's wrong.

Ashton: She's 13 already. She's entered her teen years and it's not normal for the physical stage to be her first one as a teenager.

Michael: What did you say to her in the car? I'm sure you must've told her what her punishment is.

Ashton: Well I told her she has to give me her iPod which I'm about to go upstairs and get from her. Also, she has to study for the two weeks that she's suspended from school.

Luke: Hold on! Suspended from school?!?

Ashton: Yeah, Luke. What do you expect? They're just gonna let breaking a girl's nose slide?

Michael: SHE BROKE A GIRL'S NOSE!!? How strong is Nicole's punch?! Shouldn't you like, check her knuckles or something?

I looked down at my knuckles to see they were red and two of them were bleeding. I guess I didn't feel it before due to the adrenaline.

Calum: In my opinion, I think you shouldn't take away her iPod and you shouldn't make her study for the two weeks she's suspended for.

Ashton: What?

Luke + Michael: What?

WHAT?!?

Calum: You heard me. Don't take away Nicole's iPod and don't force her to study.

Ashton: Dude, she needs this kind of discipline. Otherwise, she'll do something like this again or maybe worse.

Calum: Somebody's really gotta take Nicole's side in this. Is anyone going to punish the girl who was tormenting Nicole?

Ashton: You're missing the point, Calum! The girl who was tormenting her didn't lay a finger on her and she resulting to punching her in the face! And the worst part is, she never even met the girl before! They said they'd never even seen each other in the halls before.

Calum: That's the thing. Don't you get it? Nicole is one to stand up for herself with words. Never with her hands. But this one girl who she NEVER MET BEFORE must've said something really horrendous that ticked Nicole off.

Luke: That's true. But what could've ticked Nicole off so badly that she did something like this?

Ashton: The only way to find out is to ask Nicole.

Calum: Which we're NOT going to do because I'm sure Nicole would rather not talk about it if it was that terrible.

Michael: I kinda feel bad for Nicole. I mean, poor kid. She had to stop this girl from saying these horrible things somehow. And knowing Nicole, I bet she definitely did try to use her words to get the girl to stop. Punching her probably didn't come to mind until after she tried to stand up.

Calum: You see? Nicole's first ideas for solutions are never physical.

Ashton: Well Nicole did say she told the girl to stop first in the car.

Calum: That's right. Now we can let Nicole sit upstairs in her bedroom and study or we can call her down here and watch some Netflix.

Ashton: Yeah. You know what? Why did I even tell her to study? She probably can't even focus thinking about what that girl must've said to her.

Luke: Exactly.
