*New York Public Library*

We walked into the library. Wow this place was huge.

"What is this place?" Riley asked in amazement.

"This is where the ancients stored all of their wisdom." Farkle said.

Maya looked around. "Look at all of those..."

"Books." I finished her sentence.

"Books." Maya and Riley said slowly.

"Look." Lucas pulled out a book from the shelf and blew the dust off of the cover. "Tales Of Human Interaction."

"We'll take it." Maya grabbed the book. "Thanks, quickdraw." She dropped the book on the table. "Andy, do whatever you do with that."

I gave her a look. "You mean read?" I opened the book. "Chapter One..."

Maya groaned. "Oh, I'm bored out of my mind, let's go to a movie."

"Shh!" The Librarian hissed.

We all screamed, "ah!"

"There's one of those ancients now." Farkle said as we walked over to the librarian. "Oh, wondrous gatekeeper of the knowledge, we are travelers from another time and place."

"Seventh grade middle school." Riley said.

"We wish to partake of this information from your great hall of wisdom." Farkle said.

"Do you rent phones?" I questioned.

"Shh!" The Librarian hissed again.

Lucas looked around. "There's no one here but us."

"Why do we have to shush?" Maya questioned.

"Let me handle this, Maya. She obviously likes it quiet. Hello, book lady." Farkle smiled flirtatiously.

I sighed, "here we go."

The Librarian smiled. "Well, hello. And who might you be?"

"I might be Farkle."

"Would you do me a favor, Farkle?" The Librarian asked.

Farkle nodded. "Oh, you know I will."

"Why don't you go over there." The Librarian pointed to another part of the library. "And... Shh!"

"Well, that's disappointing." He followed Maya to a table while Riley and Lucas went to another.

I felt a pit in my stomach. Stop it Andy. I went over to Maya and Farkle. I sat across from them.

Farkle showed me a book. "This chapter's called "Disconnect To Connect.""

I looked at the book and began to read. "'Not until we put down our phones, switch off our computers and look in each other's eyes will we be able to touch each other's hearts.'" I snorted. "Yeah, like that's going to work on anybody."

After awhile Farkle, Maya and I sat down at the window ledge. Maya started scribbling on a notepad while Farkle rambled.

I looked over at Riley and Lucas to see them talking and laughing. I sighed and looked out the window. The night sky looked so pretty. I pulled my small plastic camera from my bag and took a picture of the sky.

"People used to need places like this. Now we can hold everything that's here in a little device we can put in our pockets. I don't even need to look out this window to know what phase the moon is in or where the stars are." Farkle said.
