Chapter 44: Monster

Taeyang held Minzy in a tight embrace as she was still crying

"He'll get through this, Minz. He's a tough one." -Taeyang tried making her feel better, but Minzy ignored his words.

I can't believe this is real. I wish I could wake up and this would all just be a dream. -She thought to herself

"Are you the family of Mr. Kang?" -They suddenly heard a voice of an older man.

If it's one of those officers, I swear, I'll--

But when Minzy lifted her head, she saw a doctor who was holding several papers in hishand

"I am his mother." -Mrs. Kang said and then glanced at YG and all of the members of 2NE1 and Bigbang.

"And they're family, too." -She said and they all smiled at her

"Wow. It's one big family!" -The doctor said with a smile and they all exchanged looks

It used to be...

"How is my son, doctor?" -Mr Kang asked

"Well I have some good news. His condition has improved so much in such a short time. And, considering how critical the crash was, it's truly a miracle that he is doing so well." -The doctor said and they all sighed in relief

"Can we see him?" -Minzy asked

"I'd recommend only a few people at a time. He just woke up, so I hope you all understand his current state." -The doctor said and they all nodded. Daesung's parents were the first ones to enter. After a few minutes they left which surprised the others

I thought they'd stay longer.

His mother was crying and his father seemed numb as they walked out of the room.

Did something happen?

"You should go next." -Taeyang said to Minzy and she nodded. She took a deep breath and didn't realize that she gripped Taeyang's hand tightly.

"Minz?" -He asked and she let go. She got up and walked towards the room. Her hands were shaking when she grabbed the door knob and she slowly approached Daesung's hospital bed.

"Dae?" -She called him and he lifted his head. As soon as he saw her, his eyes got watery.

"Minzy... Please tell me what happened to that man." -He begged

"Dae..."

"Please. Tell me." -He begged and Minzy sighed

"H-He... He died." -She could hardly say and Daesung grabbed the sheets of his bed. Minzy could see that he was shaking

"I killed him. I killed that man." -Daesung said quietly and Minzy gasped

"Don't say that! It was an accident! You--"

"I'm a monster, Minzy! I'm just a monster..." -He said angirly.

GD listened to Daesung and Minzy's conversation as he leaned next to the door of Daesung's room.

"I'm a monster, Minzy. I'm nothing but a monster." -Daesung's words were breaking GD's heart

No, you're not. You're my friend. My brother...

-GD wanted to say those things to Daesung and it was killing him to know that he can't

I'm falling apart.
