Chapter 78: Stay Together

GD parked his car in front of his lake house. He quickly ran outside and to the passenger side to sopen the door for CL.

"My lady?" -He said and offered his hand to her. She smiled at him and accepted it as the two of them started approaching the lake house

Today is our anniversary and we even invited Top, Bom, Minzy and Kai to join us as well. Seungri's on a vacation in the US with Daesung while Dara and Taeyang are both busy with some photo shoots.

"So is your mom here now?" -GD's thoughts were interrupted by CL's question

"Nope. She's here when someone rents one of the apartments. I thought it would be a good idea to find her a somewhat job since she retired a few years ago. Besides, she hates living in the city and she's the only person I really trust when it comes to this place." -GD said as he and CL entered the lake house which was divided from the other apartments.

"Welcome!" -GD said as he opened the door of the lake house

"Daebak! It's even better than I imagined!" -CL said as she took a good look of the large and luxurious wooden house.

"Well, I wouldn't just bring you anywhere for our 2 year anniversary, now would I?" -GD said with a big proud smile, but CL only faked a smile

"What's wrong? You don't like this place?" -He asked

"It's not that... it's just that it's our second anniversary, but I still haven't met any of your family members. You met pretty much everyone from my side and they loved you." -CL said and GD's smile quickly faded

"I don't have a lot of family. You know that.... I just have my mom." -He said

"Well, why can't I meet her?" -She asked and GD chuckled bitterly

"Because... she's still in good terms with my father. And you know very well why he can't know about the two of us." -GD said

"So we have to keep this a secret for god-knows how long?! Jiyong, you have to be an adult about this. You can't keep running away from your dad this way!" -CL said

"You have no idea what he's capable of..." -GD said coldly

"Well, explain it to me. Explain what happened when you broke up with me over that text." -CL said and GD sighed. Suddenly, he heard what he thought was a car outside

But Top and Bom aren't supposed to arrive until noon...

"I really don't want to ruin this trip for us, Chaerin. I want us to--"

"So I'm supposed to pray every time we're together that no one takes a photo of us because your dad might find out? we have to live in fear every day? Is that what you want?" -CL asked

Stop it, please...

"ENOUGH!" -GD yelled and scared her a little.

"Just tell me this... Why does he hate me so much?" -She asked as her voice shook

"We really shouldn't talk about this--"

"Just tell me." -She said and GD sighed

"He thinks you're not good enough for me and I deserve much better." -GD said and looked away. CL seemed surprised, but not too much

"I tried explaining to him that you're different than what he thinks and that you make me the happiest guy in the world. But that man just never listens..."
