Chapter 86: Love Is Ouch

Bom sat in the backseat of Taeyang as they enetered the downtown of Seoul

"You... You wanna talk about it?" -Taeyang asked, refferring to her argument with Top earlier. Bom sighed

"I'll take that as a 'No'..." -He said

You know that I trust you more than anyone. I'd tell you but... I really want to forget the whole thing

-Bom thought to herself si ce she felt bad for pushing Taeyang away

"Why did you say you had to go back here?" -She asked him

"That kid Mino has a competition today and he needs someone to sing the chorus for his song." -Taeyang said and Bom seemed confused

"Couldn't one of his bandmates sing it instead?" -Bom asked and Taeyang chuckled

"They didn't even know about this competition nor the song itself. He said that the only person who knows this song is me since he asked me to help him song it." -Taeyang said. Bom was about to say something, but her phone rang, distracting her. She checked the phone only to see an audio message from Top.

This is weird... If he wanted to talk then he would have just called me.

Maybe he knows that I would hang up on him...

-Bom sighed

"Tae... Can I ask you something?" -She asked

"Of course." -He said and she took a deep breath

"What kind of person do you think my dad is?" -She asked and Taeyang sighed

"You know that I love and respect him since he was more involved in my life than my own father, but..."

Oh no...

"He really does treat GD horribly." -Taeyang said

"He's even worse towards CL. I understand that he may not think that she's the best fit for his son, but he really goes to extremes to try and ruin her life." -Taeyang said and Bom managed to keep in the tears

I trust Taeyang more than anyone else when it comes to my dad since he's the only one that really knows the true side of my dad. The kind, loving and caring one.

"I know all of this may be hard for you to believe, since Mr. Park has been truly amazing father to you. Hell, it was even hard for me to believe all these stories about him until I got to witness one of his arguments with GD with my own eyes. Bom, believe me... GD and CL have every right to be mad at him." -Taeyang said

"What about... Top?" -She asked, as her voice shook

"I'm not sure why he did what he did. I know for a fact that Mr. Park was always kind and friendly towards him." -Taeyang said and Bom chuckled bitterly

I think I finally know why... How did I not realize this sooner?

"What was that for?" -Taeyang asked, refferring to the chuckle

"Top is very protective of CL since the two of them have almost a sibling-like relationship. And he loves all the guys from BigBang like his own brothers, but GD...well, him esspecially." -Bom said and Taeyang raised his eyebrow

"Not to sound jealous, but why is that?" -Taeyang asked

"I'm not sure if either of them told you guys about this, but the two of them used to be really close friends when they were really young. GD was trying to get into the underground scene and Top was already a big name, so he helped him out a lot." -Bom said

"Woah... Seriously? How come they never told us about this?" -Taeyang asked

"They recently found out as well and I was the one that revealed it to them. I saw some of Top's old photos and, on almost all of them, there was a boy with him who looked a lot like my brother. When I saw some of GD's photos, it was the same thing, just vice-versa." -Bom said

"Wow... So now we know whyy Top stood up to Mr. Park. He wanted to protect his childhood friend and the girl who's pretty much like his own sister." -Taeyang said. By now, Bom had tears in her eyes. Taeyang stopped the car and Bom realized that they were outside of a club

"You wanna go inside with ne or...?" -Taeyang asked

"I'll wait in the car." -She said

"You sure?" -He asked and she nodded. Taeyang hesitated on leaving her since he saw her tears, but eventually he did. Once Bom was alone, she unlocked her phone and dtared at Top's message.

I'm really curious about it...

She pressed play and was surprised to hear a guitar strumming. Soon after that, she heard a beautiful deep, yet gentle voice

Is this... is this Top?!
She listened carefully to every word he sang:

He sang the chorus passionately and Bom was shocked

His voice... It's so beautiful

His voice was gentle again:

Bom replayed the song several times, crying more within each listen.
