Chapter 70: MAMA

All the YG vans parked outside of the large arena where the MAMAs will be held. Even though it was 8 hours before the event itself, the fans were still crowding outside, waiting to enter.

Minzy was sitting next to Lee Hi in the van and they walked out together as their stylists carried their outfits

Minzy glanced at Lee Hi who barely said a word during their long drive and even their flight from 2 days ago.

She must be nervous... I can't blame her. YG told her that she's performing at the biggest award show only a week prior to it.

"Are you excited?" -Minzy asked her with a smile

"Oh, uh... Yeah. I just wish that Bobby could have went with us." -She said and Minzy smiled sweetly

"You know, when I was a student at YGU, I was pretty much glued to Dae-- I MEAN, my boyfriend..." -She said and Hayi raised her eyebrow

Was she about to say "Daesung"? -Lee Hi thought to herself

"Wait. Was your boyfriend Prof. Ka--"

"NO HE WASN'T." -Minzy said nervously which confused Hayi even more

"Oh..." -Lee Hi said and Minzy sighed

"Okay, fine. He was." -Minzy said and Lee Hi seemed surprised

"Seriously?! But you two are--"

"Complete opposites, I know. Back then, we bonded through a school project we were partnered up to do. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met, but it seemed like he wasn't truly happy with himself. He would always do his best to make everyone around him smile, but in reality, he was the one who needed someone like that." -Minzy said and Hayi looked at the ground

That's exactly what Bobby is going through... I hope I can make see his smile... but a big and honest one... Not the fake one he puts on...

"Hayi?" -Lee Hi's thoughts were interrupted by Minzy's question

"Yeah?"

"Is something wrong? Why do you seem so upset?" -Minzy asked her

"I'm just nervous, that's all." -She said

"Well, you have nothing to be nervous about. You will get out there and amaze everyone! Trust me." -Minzy said and Lee Hi smiled

"Thank you, unnie." -She said and Minzy smiled at her

8 Hours Later:

"Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God." -The girls of 2NE1 could hear Daesung's nervous voice from the dressing room next to their's.

"Dae! Calm the fuck down! You have nothing to worry about!" -They heard GD saying to him

"What if they boo me? They wrote horrible things about me. Who says they won't DO horrible things to me?!" -Daesung asked nervously. The girls exchanged concerned looks

I really feel bad for him... He was finally starting to loosen up. He even released an album and did a full tour in Japan, but performing away from Japan and returning to the spotlight is terrifying him.

-Minzy thought to herself

"I swear to God, I'm going to hit you if you don't calm down." -They heard Top, who was silent the entire time, say which made them laugh

Top is just being Top...

Daesung suddenly stopped panicking.

"Okay. Now listen up. First, Top will walk out and perform his song. Then, Taeyang, Seungri and lastly, me. When I finish my song, our new single will start playing. Keep in mind, we just released it ladt night so we have no idea if anyone even knows it... Anyways, at the chorus, Daesung will appear on stage. Is that clear?" -GD asked and Minzy glanced at CL who didn't say anything, but was obviously proud of GD's leadership skills.

"Ladies, you're on in 10 minutes." -A staff member said to them. The girls nodded. Suddenly, they heard a knock on their door

"Wus up, we 2NE1!" -They heard Top yell which made them laugh. He, GD, Seungri, Daesung and Taeyang entered their dressing room

"We just wanted to wish you look, though you don't need it. We know you'll kill it!" -Seungri said to them with a smile and the girls thanked him

"We know you guys will make the whole YG Family proud. You have nothing to worry about." -Minzy said to them, but then glanced at Daesung and the two of then smiled at each other.

"Yeah. Besides, I saw a bunch of people with VIP lightsticks." -Dara said and they seemed releaved, but still worried

"Girls, it's time." -Xin, their make up artist, said

"Good luck!" -The guys said to them and they all hugged each other. Everyone but Taeyang and Minzy.

He just walked past me and hugged Bom... I really don't get him. It's not like we got in a fight. Besides, he's with Dara and I'm with Kai.

Speaking of Kai, I watched him and his group perform and I was beyond impressed. I know they worked hard and practiced a lot, but I had no idea that it was THAT good!

"Let's show 'em who's back!" -CL said to Dara, Bom and Minzy. They smiled and nodded and then walked out of their dressing room and to the stage.

The girls started singing passionetly their song "Lonely" passionately

This is the song CL wrote when she was about to join JYP. When she thought we all hated her for leaving YG. In reality, we were miserable without her...

Minzy would ocassionaly glance at CL, though, most of the time, she would scan through the audience, trying to find Kai.

Once they finished performing "Lonely" they started singing their new song, "Missing You".

CL wrote this song when she broke up with GD. It's funny now, since they're closer than ever these days.

The girls moved around the stage, which allowed Minzy to look for Kai. When she and the girls walked towards the front of the stage, Minzy finally saw Kai and he smiled at her. Then, he saw him whispering something to Chanyeol who was next to him. Minzy just smirked

The girls effortlesly performed the song without any mistakes and then got off stage as they took a seat in the artists lounge. They were seated right in front of EXO, but Kai was too far away from Minzy

Maybe it's best that we don't interact in public since the rumours may start.

"Epik High and Hayi are next." -Bom whispered to CL, Bom and Dara.

Lee Hi stepped on stage in a long white dress and was alone. The videos of Mithra Jin and Tablo appeared onthe two screens behind her.

Spring comes and flowers bloom
Summer comes and memories melt but...

-Lee Hi sang, but Minzy and the girls could tell that she was nervous. The girls, ad well as the crowd, cheered for her and then, the voices of Mithra and Tablo rapping were heard around the arena. Then, Lee Hi sang again;

It's cold here even when I hide my hands in my pocket
It's so cold even when I blow into my hands
My heart is so frozen that my lips get cracked

I'm the only cold one even when I wrap my body in blankets
It's so cold even when I'm in someone's embrace
I try to block the hole in my heart but the wind keeps coming in

Once she was finished with singing her part, the music stopped. Tablo, Mithra and Tukutz stepped on the stage dressed up as Batman villains which shocked some and made others laugh. Tablo started singing the chorus of "Don't Hate Me" and the audience cheered

"The guys will be the last performance of the night..." -Dara whispered to the girls and they exchanged concerned looks

Being the last performance of the night means you have the most attention... which is probably not what Daesung needs right now...
