The Unfinished Business (Completed)

Chapter 47

"I still love you," ulit ni Aldrin, "but I know you're still not sure about us."

"Aldrin-"

He interrupted me. "Don't answer now. And please Maggie don't be nice. I want you to be true, to yourself and to your heart. You missed me and God how I've missed you too but love should be more than that. Decide, then let me know if I am the one for you."

I just looked at him dahil hindi ko alam ang sasabihin ko. Gulung-gulo ako dahil kumportable ako sa kanya at na-miss ko syang kasama. If breaking up with him would mean us not seeing each other anymore? That'd be sad.

Napayuko sya and smiled. He played with his table napkin. "I just wanted to say that kaya ako nag-yayang mag-lunch ngayon. At syempre, gusto rin kitang makita. Matagal ko ring tiniis na hindi ka makita 'no. Lagi ka ring sinusundo ng Ate mo-"

"Alam mo yun?" tanong kong natatawa.  "Na sinusundo ako ni Ate parati?"

"Oo naman," sabi nya na natawa rin. "Ang aga pa nya lagi 'pag sinusundo ka. Hindi ako maka-singit."

Natawa kami dahil unusually perky nga si Ate lately at masugid nga ang sundo nya sa'kin sa hotel.

Malungkot ng wala si Aldrin. I've missed him. Pero why can't I assure him na meron pang kami? "Aldrin I value us-" I started.

He stopped me. "Ops don't say anything right now. Think about it then come back to me okay?" he requested.

"Okay, okay," tango ko.

"I want you to come to me with a decision. Baka kasi feeling mo pine-pressure lang kita ngayon."

"I understand," sagot ko.

"Hey, am I interrupting something?"

"Ian?!" nasigaw ko sa gulat. Si Ian?!?!?! Anong ginagawa nya dito?!?! "You're here! What-?"

Dumagundong ang tibok ng puso ko. Para akong kinabahan na maiihi na hindi ko malaman. What is he doing here? How did he know we're here? Or nakita lang nya ba kami? Nandito sya!

Maraming tanong na nag-uunahan sa isipan ko but I was very aware I was also with Aldrin who was studying my actions.

Ian was a sight to behold in his new crew cut  hair style, black tee and black pants. He looked ruggedly handsome. He had really grown. But he was different. Hindi ko alam kung masaya, malungkot, nag-aalala o pagod sya, but he definitely wasn't at ease.

Matagal ko syang hindi nakita and now he's finally here! In front of me! Looking at my face... and oops killing Aldrin with his glare. Ops si Aldrin, galit.

But Ian's here!

It was weird seeing someone you'd only been trying to imagine in your head. I had the urge to hug him and smell him and comment on his new smell, hair and style. He was good different but I can definitely tell that he and Aldrin were not in a very social mood.

"Pa-re," banas na bati ni Adrin kay Ian. May sarkasmo sa boses nya.

Tinanguan lang sya ni Ian at pagkatapos ay bumaling sa'kin, "Na-miss kita. Sobra," bulong nya. Sigurado akong pinamulahan ako sa sinabi nyang yun. Bumaling sya sa'min, "So what are we having for lunch?" sunod nyang sinabi bigla sa'ming dalawa.

Ian smiled. It was a fake smile but he still looked dapper. There was this tension between him and Aldrin and I could feel na yun ang mas importante sa kanila kaysa sa fact na nakakahiya ang titigan nilang dalawa sa mga taong naka-tingin na sa'min dun sa restaurant.

Pero hindi ko napigilan ang sarili kong mag-isip tungkol kay Ian. What is he doing here? Kelan pa sya naka-uwi? Ngayon ang flight nya oo, tas andito na sya agad? From airport ba?
