Sam watched the camp, wishing Daryl would have been here to say goodbye to Merle. She sighed and closed her eyes for a few minutes, until she felt a presence in front of her. Opening her eyes she saw Shane kneeling down looking at her.
"What?" She snapped.
"We need to talk about where you'll be sleeping. Now you can either sleep in the RV or you can share a tent with me."
"I'll stay here thanks."
"No. You stay away from those douchebag rednecks. They're bad news." Shane warned.
Holding back tears, Sam quickly stood up and pushed her way past Shane. She couldn't handle his shit. Not now.
Shane quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
"What's wrong with you Sam?" He asked with concern.
"They saved me. They brought me here. Those douchebag rednecks, they saved me Shane! Something you couldn't do." Sam managed to croak out as the tears fell from her eyes.
Shane instantly felt bad. He wrapped his arms around her and held her. Sam cried into his chest, letting out all her anger and saddness.
"I tried to save you Sam." He whispered.
"You didn't try hard enough." She mumbled.
"Before I could do anything they took you away, they moved. I couldn't find you. I tried I really did. Then the world went to shit. I'm sorry Sam." He said on the verge of tears.
She gently pulled away and looked into his eyes. Sighing she quickly hugged him again.
"I wasn't your responsibility. You were just a police officer doing your job." She smiled.
Sighing Shane pulls away runs a hand through his hair.
"And as a police officer it was my duty to protect you. Your father abused you and your mother turned a blind eye because she was scared. I know you loved your mother and you took the beatings to protect her. But I should of protected you!" He growled.
"Shane please calm down. The fucker is dead now. It's okay."
"No it's not okay. I SHOULD HAVE PROTECTED YOU SAM!" He snapped.
Sam didn't understand why Shane was acting like this, why was she so special? Surely he had many cases like this, so why was he taking this case so hard?
Amy walked over and gently pulled Sam away.
"Sometimes it's best to leave him alone. He'll calm down soon." She smiled.
Sam just shrugged her shoulders and let Amy take her to wherever they were going. They arrived at the RV and sat inside. Sam looked and saw Ellie reading a book, in her own little world, she also noticed a slight bruise on her cheek.
She grew fustrated at Ed, Amy noticed and gently squeezed her hand. Sam looked at Amy and gave her a small smile. Amy returned the smile and carried on dragging Sam. She opened the bedroom door and entered.
"So me and Andrea usually share this bed but I guess you could sleep here until...Or if she comes back." Amy said sadly.
"She WILL come back." Sam said with a smile.
"I hope you're right." She sighed.
"I'm always right." Sam smirked. Amy laughed and wrapped her arms around Sam.
"You're a good friend."
"Could you two please shut up? I'm trying to read." Ellie shouted.
Amy and Sam laughed. Looking into Amy's eyes she noticed just how blue they really were. Amy yawned and Sam smiled a little.
"You tired?" Sam asked raising an eyebrow.
"Mmmhmm." Amy hummed.
"Go take a nap." Sam nodded to the bed.
"Will you stay with me?" Amy asked as she slowly walked over to the bed and layed down. She patted the other side of the bed.
"Uh..."
"Pleaaaaaaaaase." Amy whined.
Sighing Sam walked over to the bed and layed down. She didn't realise how tired she really was, until her eyes slowly closed and she drifted off to the best sleep she had in a long time.
