Sam's POV
As me and Beth, slowly made our way out of the cell, the people who were sick had started to panic. Some had found the strength to fight, others were crying and praying.
"Shit." I hear Beth mutter. I turn my head to face the door and watch as a huge amount of walkers pile in.
"You gotta be fucking kidding me." I growl and begin to fire the gun, shooting some of the walker in the head.
I feel my grip on Beth loosen as she stabs a walker that is getting too close in the head and then her grip tightens again.
We quickly move through the crowd, Beth stabbing walkers and me hitting them with the butt of the gun.
I lead Beth out of the cell block and we break out into a run as we reach the cell block C. My old cell block. Nobody is here, they are probably in the other cell block taking care if of the walkers.
I pull Beth into our cell and quickly walk back out shutting the cell door behind me.
"What are you doing?!" She hisses.
"Protecting you." I whisper before breaking into a slow run, heading back to the walker infested cell block.
"SAM!" Sophia shouts and I see her running towards me, before a walker latches itself onto her shoulder.
She lets out a terrified scream and the walker opens it's mouth ready to take a bite. I try to fire the gun but it's jammed.
My eyes begin to water but through blurry vision I see an arrow pierce the walkers skull.
I sigh in relief as Daryl stands behind the walker, crossbow raised.
I turn around just in time to see a walker lunge at me, knocking me to the ground. My head bounces off the hard floor and I groan in pain.
My vision starts to go blurry, this time not from tears. I hear the screams, the growls, the gun fire as my eyes slowly close.
I shake my head and stand up slowly and notice the walker that tried to take a bite out of me dead on the ground.
Looking around I notice less walkers and more living people. Daryl walks over to me and puts a hand on my shoulder.
"C'mon." He whispers and leads me out of the cell block.
I stumble as I walk, my head throbbing the only thing keeping me from falling is Daryl's grip on me.
I look to the cell I left Beth in and see her pacing her around.
"Sam!" She shouts.
I look towards her and smile before turning around and throwing up, watching Daryl's feet as he jumps back.
I look up at Beth and she has a concerned look on her face.
"I'm okay." I say before I feel myself falling.
I feel arms wrap around me, lowering me to the ground. I find myself struggling to breathe. Beth cries for me.
I get rolled over on to my side and I see a pool of blood on the floor, surrounding my jaw area.
"Keep her on her side, or she'll choke." I hear Hershel say, his voice is so distant as my eyes begin to close once again.
"Keep yer eyes open fer me." I hear Daryl say, but it's no use.
My eyes close and all I can hear is silence.
