"Damn thing." Dale sighed as he checked the RV. The RV's radiator hose had gone again, he has spent the last three hours trying to fix it.
"Can't you just put some duct tape on it?" Shane asks.
Dale wipes his hands and shakes his head.
"It's mainly duct tape. And I'm all outta duct tape."
Shane runs a hand through his hair and looks around at all the scattered, and abandoned cars on the road. He walks over to one of the cars closest to him and opens the boot (I forgot what Americans call it, is it a trunk?) of the car and rummages through it.
"There's gotta be something in these cars." He mutters to himself as he pulls out a six pack of water. He hands them to Dale and continues to look through the car.
"Search these cars. See if you can find anything useful." He announces.
Everyone goes their seperate ways, except for Lori who stands there looking around saddness in her eyes.
"Lori?" Shane says looking at her.
"This is a graveyard. This is wrong."
"We need these supplies more than these dead bastards. Want us to hold a moment of silence?" Shane says getting pissed off.
Lori sighs and ignores him and begins to look through cars herself.
"Hey Sam." Daryl calls from the car next to her.
"Yeah?" She asks lifting her head up.
"Catch." He says throwing her a black leather jacket.
She catches it and holds it up and inspects it. It's clean. No blood. No nothing. She turns it around and theirs nothing on the back either. She tries it on and beams with happiness, as it's a perfect fit.
"Thanks."
"Badass." He chuckles.
Sam hears Glenn cheering and turns around and sees Shane pouring water all over himself from a water truck.
"Waste of water." She mutters to herself.
She pulls out a box of ammo and hands them to Daryl. She walks over to another car and finds a box full of food. She turns around to show Daryl but he's not there.
She's about to call for him, but a hand covers her mouth and she's gently dragged to the floor. She tries to scream against the hand and kicks her legs out.
"Stop strugglin' it's me." Daryl whispers.
Her eyes go wide and she knows something is wrong.
"Get under the car. I'll be righ' back. I promise." He whispers as Sam crawls under the car.
She looks around and sees Carl and Sophia under seperate cars. Sophia is trying not to cry, but as the walkers grow closer she begins to cry. Sophia and Sam's eyes meet and Sam breathes in and out slowly, Sophia copies her breathing and she calms down.
"Keep looking at me." Sam mouths and Sophia obeys as about ten pairs of walker feet shuffle past their cars.
Sophia breaks eye contact though and looks around, she slowly crawls from under the car but a walker notices her and she crawls back under and goes the other way, where another walker waits for her. She let's out a little scream and climbs over the safety barrier and slides down the hill.
Without thinking, Sam quickly shuffles from under the car and runs after Sophia, ignoring Shane and Ricks call for her to come back.
She follows as close as she can. She jumps over a knocked down tree and takes a short cut to cut off Sophia.
Sophia looks behind her and runs into Sam.
She lets out a terrified scream but she calms down as she sees it's Sam.
"Whatever you do, don't let go." Sam tells her and they run further into the forest.
Sam pulls Sophia behind a tree and holds her close, she reaches into her boot and pulls out her knife.
"Shhh." Sam shushes quietly as Sophia begins to shake and let's out little whimpers.
"You're okay." Sam whispers.
Sophia clutches Sam tighter as the walkers, slowly limp past them. Sam gently pushes Sophia off of her and lunges forward, digging the knife deep into the walkers skull.
She notices the other walker just standing around, doing nothing. Sam gestures for Sophia to come over and she slowly walks over.
"You need to learn how to use this." Sam tells her quietly.
Sophia quickly shakes her head and clutches her stuffed bunny to her chest.
"Yes, Sophia you have to. If you don't know how to put walkers down you will die. What if something happens to me and a walker is coming? I can't help you. Take this and put that walker down." Sam tells her sternly.
Sophia eyes the knife and reluctlently takes it. She creeps up behind the walker but screams as it turns around.
"Put the knife in it's head Sophia." Sam tells her as she walks behind the walker, she notices a big rock on the ground and quickly picks it up.
"You can do it Sophia. You're not too small, you're not scared. You just need to believe in yourself that you're brave. You are brave Sophia. Put the walker down."
"I can't." Sophia cries as the walker begins to walker closer, it's growling getting louder.
Sam kicks the walkers leg, causing the walker to fall on the floor, she smashes the rock over the walkers head, putting an end to it's growls.
Sophia hands the knife back to Sam who sighs and wraps an arm protectivly around Sophia.
"It's getting dark, we should probably set up a camp." Sophia says.
Sam looks up and nods her head.
"Ever sleep in a tree before?"
