A Few Days Later

Sam's POV

It was a nice hot day and Hershel was  up and moving, me and Beth still hadn't told him about us, we're not sure how he'd handle it.

I decided to go exploring, so I grabbed my gun and knife, and stood on the edge of my bed and looked at Beth who was sleeping peacfully, I gently kissed the top of her head and walked out of our cell.

Everyone was still asleep which was unusual, somebody is usually up before me.

I sneaked inside Ellie's cell and stole the spare set of keys Daryl kept there. I smiled at Ellie, she kept mumbling "I love you." And "Daryl." And saying different names and then laughing. I'm guessing she was dreaming about her and Daryl talking about baby names.

I walk out of the cell and slowly walk out of the cell block, but someone puts a hand on my shoulder, I've been caught.

I turn around slowly and see Ariana with her arms crossed and eyebrows raised.

"Where you going?" She asks.

"Going exploring, wanna come?" I ask.

She rolls her eyes and starts to walk ahead of me.

"I would have come either way."

I laugh lightly and we walk down different halls. We pass the medical room and I check to see if it's locked, strange...It's not...It should be nobody has been in here yet.

Ariana has her gun and knife already raised, her gun pointed and knife under her gun...Kinda like in Call Of Duty.

I raise my gun and quickly open the door.

"OH GOD!" I say shutting my eyes.

Ariana laughs and I groan.

"Geez..Learn to knock." Gavin mumbles.

"Just put your damn clothes on." I beg.

"Nothing you haven't seen before Sam." Riley says, I can tell she has a smirk on her face.

"Just hurry up!" I hiss.

"You can open your eyes now." Gavin says.

I open my eyes and sigh with relief. They walk out out the room, not saying a word. I'll ask them how they got in later.

I walk inside and my eyes lock on to a pair of crutches. I grab them and test them out, these would be perfect for Hershel. Ariana walks past me and grabs as many things as she can, mainly bandages.

We walk back to the cell block and when we get there I see a pissed Daryl and a worried Beth.

"Where were you?!" They asked at the same time.

"Exploring. Found some medical stuff." I say as Ariana drops the things on the table.

"Hershel awake?" I ask and Beth nods her head.

I smile and walk into Hershel's cell, crutches in my hand.

"Hey Hershel." I greet.

"Hello Sam." He smiles slowly sitting up.

I hold out the crutches. He looks at me and then to the crutches, then back to me again.

He gives me a small smile and takes them from me. I help him up and hold him as he gets his balance.

He slowly hobbles around his cell until he gets used to using them.

"It's a beautiful day outside, want to go and get some fresh air?"

"That's a lovely idea." He says as he hops out of his cell.

I follow close behind and Beth smiles at me. I wrap my arms around her waist and she wraps hers around my neck.

"Thank you." She whispers.

"I know how you can thank me." I whisper with a wink and pucker my lips.

She rolls her eyes and looks to see if Hershel's looking, which he's not and she slowly leans in I meet her half way and I feel my heart do flips again.

"Hey, Beth are you co-WHAT THE HELL?!" Hershel yells.

We jump apart and he shakes his head.

"We'll talk about this later." He snaps as he goes outside, everyone turns to face us and they give us a sad look, but there's one thing I'm sure of, no matter what Hershel says I won't stop being with Beth.

I love her. Nobody will stop me loving her. Not even Hershel.
