Darkness. That's what surrounded Sam. All she could see was darkness, but she heard voices. They seemed so far away...Then nothing.

A few hours, which seemed like minutes again she heard something again...But this time it sounded like soft humming. It made her feel relaxed, and calm.

Where am I? She thought to herself, she couldn't open her eyes, no matter how hard she tried. It was like they were glued shut...It reminded her of the time when she was four and had conjunctivitis and she couldn't open her eyes until her..Dad...Or who she was raised to believe was her Dad got a towel and wet it a little and dabbed her eyes.

That was when things were okay, before he..Changed.

She tried to forget him, but the more she tried to shake the thought of him the more she thought of him, until a soft voice started to sing, and then all she could think was that she was dead. She was with the angels. The angels were singing, welcoming her to Heaven.

18 years have come and gone
For momma they flew by
But for me they drug on and on
We were loading up that Chevy
Both tryin' not to cry
Momma kept on talking
Putting off good-bye
Then she took my hand and said
'Baby don't forget

Before you hit the highway
You better stop for gas
There's a 50 in the ashtray
In case you run short on cash
Here's a map and here's a Bible
If you ever lose your way

Just one more thing before you leave
Don't forget to remember me'

This downtown apartment sure makes me miss home
And those bills there on the counter
Keep telling me I'm on my own
And just like every Sunday I called momma up last night
And even when it's not, I tell her everything's alright
Before we hung up I said
'Hey momma, don't forget to tell my baby sister I'll see her in the fall
And tell Memaw that I miss her
Yeah, I should give her a call
And make sure you tell Daddy that I'm still his little girl
Yeah, I still feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be
Don't forget to remember me'

Tonight I find myself kneeling by the bed to pray
I haven't done this in a while
So I don't know what to say but
'Lord I feel so small sometimes in this big ol' place
Yeah, I know there are more important things,
But don't forget to remember me
But don't forget to remember me'

And then nothing.

Until...

A loud slam could be heard, like a door opening and banging against the wall.

"SAM!! WHERE IS SHE!? GET YER HANDS OFF ME!!" She heard a familar voice yell.

She'd recognise that accent anywhere. It was Daryl.

"Daryl calm down." She heard Shane tell him calmly.

"Don't tell me what ta do." He snapped.

Another man began to speak, but she didn't recognise his voice.

"Sir, I suggest you lower your voice. You might wake Sam up and she's not fully rested. If you wish to see her she's upstairs, the first room on the right."

And that's when she heard loud banging getting louder and louder, closer and closer.

"Sam..." Daryl whispers.

I'm okay Daryl.

"Daryl she's strong, she'll be okay." She heard Ellie say to him.

"What if she's not Ellie?! I...I already lost Merle. I..I can't lose 'er too..I just can't. She's like a little sister ta me."

She felt someone stroking her cheek gently.

"Daryl...We should get some rest."

"'M not leavin' 'er." Daryl growled.

"There's food downstairs if ya'll want something to eat." A different female said.

"Atleast get something to eat Daryl please. For me." Ellie begged.

"What if she wakes up and 'm not here, 'nd she gets scared?"

"Now you're being silly Dixon." Ellie laughed.

Daryl hesitates but leaves with Ellie to get some food...And Sam heard nothing more.

The next day

"Mornin' Sam." Daryl said sitting down next to the bed.

Morning Dixon.

"Ellie is makin' me go out and teach her ta track t'day...I hope ye will be alrigh'." He sighs.

Tough as nails me. Have fun.

"You ready to go Daryl?" Ellie asks.

He sighs and nods his head, Ellie turns around and Daryl leans down and quickly kisses her forhead.

"I won't be long. I promise."

She heard his footsteps fade away and she was stuck in darkness and quietness again.

It wasn't long before she heard footsteps again, much lighter footsteps.

She heard what sounded like water dripping, and then a relaxing coldness, also wet rag was placed upon her forhead.

With all her strength she managed to grab whoever's wrist it was, she snapped open her eyes and saw a blonde girl, with, a wet rag in her hand and a surprised look on her face.

"Who. The. Fuck. Are. You?" Sam growls with a raspy voice.

"Beth Greene. Welcome to my home." The blonde smiles.
