Sam's POV
Me and Rick stand outside, I lean against the wall looking ahead at the walkers, I can feel Rick's eyes on me.
"Sam."
I turn my head to look at him, and raise my eyebrows, he sighs and scratches his slowly growing beard.
"I'm sorry." He says looking down.
"Why are you sorry Rick? Sorry that I lost my Dad? Sorry that I never got to tell him that I love him? Sorry that I never got to say goodbye?!" I snap him, my hands shaking slightly.
He nods his head slowly and looks at me. Looking into his eyes I see pain, and regret. I don't think I can forgive him for what he's done.
"I'm sorry for everything. For all the hurt I put you through."
"So you should be." I spit at him.
He sighs and falls back against the wall, slowly sinking to the ground, I watch as he begins to cry.
"He was my best friend, he was a good man before the world went to shit. He changed. He wanted to kill me. He wanted Lori, my son, my unborn child. I...Stabbed him..I gave him the choice that we could turn around and go back to the farm, forget it ever happend. He pulled his gun out on me. He freed Randall and killed him...Busted his nose up acted like Randall escaped..So he could lead me out and kill me." Rick cried.
I don't care what Shane did. For all I know Rick might be lying...But a part of me believed him because of his reaction. It looked genuine, but he killed my Dad...That's all my mind keeps telling me. He killed my Dad. He murdered my Dad.
"I accept your apology, but I don't forgive you. Not yet." I tell him before I walk back into the prison.
I walk into the cell Hershel is being kept in and smile when I see Beth holding his hand.
I kneel down next to the chair she is sat in and take her other hand. I look up at Hershel and see his other hand has been handcuffed to the bed post.
"Lori did that, it's so..If...If he wakes up and he's one of them he can't get any of us." Beth says turning to look at me.
I nod my head slowly and kiss her hand.
"He won't be one of them. I promise." I say stroking her hand gently with my hand.
She smiles at me and leans down and hugs Hershel, I hear her gasp and tears fall from her beautiful green eyes.
"He..He..He's not breathing." She cries.
I quickly stand up and press my ear to his chest, no heart beat.
I shake my head and perform CPR on him.
"C'mon Hershel." I pant.
I press my ear against his chest again, still no heart beat.
"MAGGIE!!" Beth cries.
Maggie runs in and I hear her gasp as I continue to do CPR.
"Daddy." She cries.
I see in the corner of my eye, Maggie and Beth holding eachother and I can hear their cries.
"Don't you give up on me now Hershel." I mumble as I lean down once more.
A small smile creeps onto my face, I walk to Beth and kiss her forhead.
"He's got a heart beat."
Beth sits back down next to Hershel, he suddenly reaches out and grabs Beth's arm, she let's out a scream but as Hershel's eyes open they're the same kind ones we've seen before.
"Daddy?" She whispers.
"Beth." He smiles.
Hershel is awake. I have hope. Everything will be okay.
It's going to be okay.
