Sam's POV

A Few Days Later

I tried my hardest each day to remember things, so far nothing. Beth, Daryl and Carl try to help me remember who we lost and what's happend but nothing is ringing any bells.

The first thing I do in a morning is think hard about someone we've lost and what's happend. Nothing.

Hershel says I'll get my memory back soon, I hope so.

I tried killing a walker for the first time again, I couldn't do it. The way everyone looked at me made me angry they felt sorry for me.

Lori had her baby and Rick, Carl and Lori decided on the name Judith.

Daryl and Ellie had gone out on a run for formula and I'm stuck in my cell bored.

That is until an idea pops in my head.

I quickly grab my knife and make my way out of the cell and outside, I look beyond the fence and see a few walkers banging against the fence.

I take a deep breath and grip my knif tighter and make my way to the gate.

Looking around I don't see anyone in sight so I quickly open the gate and then close it again.

A walker stumbles close to me and I begin to shake, raising my knife I bring it down on the walkers skull.

A smile appears on my face and I go on a killing spree.

"WHAT THE HELL HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU!?" Ariana yells as she quickly opens the gate and takes her knife out and starts killing walkers.

"I...I killed the walkers. I finally did it."

She shakes her head and pulls me inside the safety of the prison grounds.

"Without anyone here to watch? You could have died." She snaps.

"But I didn't!! Just because I lost my memory doesn't mean I'm weak." I snap back.

She bites her lips and she nods her head.

"You're right. I'm sorry." She says hugging me. I hug her back and her lip piercing grazes my ear causing me to shiver slightly.

"You okay?" She asks pulling away and looking at me concerned.

"Yeah...Let...Let's go back inside."

She nods her head and we walk back inside, my eyes land on Beth and my heart flutters. She's holding Judith and rocking her gently, I'm guessing Lori is napping.

Beth turns around so her back is facing me and I walk behind her and wrap my arms around her and gently stroke Judith's cheek. My right hand rests on Beth's side and my chin rests on her shoulder.

"Gorgeous little thing." I whisper.

"She's so innocent. Shame she has to be brought up in this world." Beth whispers.

I sigh and look up and notice Ariana looking at us. Her eyes lock on to mine and she smiles, I smile back and walk over to her.

"You and Beth had a thing before you lost your memory." Ariana says casually.

"Really?" I ask perking up.

"Yeah..But Hershel didn't allow it so you broke up with her because you didn't want her falling out with her Dad." Ariana says with a sad smile.

"Oh." I say looking away.

Ariana lifts my face up gently and gives me a hug.

"But you're friends now. Maybe you can be with her again?"

"Maybe I want to be with someone else." I mumble and Ariana pulls away.

"You complete Beth, you make her happy. Don't let go yet." Ariana says, I sigh and walk away. My eyes land on Daryl and I smile, he's back and safe.

"Sam. I got ye something." He says walking over.

He hands me a object wrapped up in newspaper and he chuckles.

"Couldn't find tha' fancy stuff."

I laugh and open it up, a black leather jacket with angel wings on the back is what I see. Similiar to Daryl's vest.

I gasp and try it on, a perfect fit.

Suddenly I zone out and my mind goes back.

Hey Sam." Daryl calls from the car next to her.

"Yeah?" She asks lifting her head up.

"Catch." He says throwing her a black leather jacket.

She catches it and holds it up and inspects it. It's clean. No blood. No nothing. She turns it around and theirs nothing on the back either. She tries it on and beams with happiness, as it's a perfect fit.

"Thanks."

"Badass." He chuckles.

I gasp and hug Daryl tightly he tenses up but soon relaxes and hugs me back.

"Ye alrigh'?" He asks pulling back slightly.

I nod my head and smile.

"I remember."

"Remember wha?"

"When you gave me the first jacket."

Daryl's eyes widen and he hugs me.

"Ye gettin' there Sam, it's progress."

He's right. My memory is very slowly coming back and it wasn't a big thing but it's still something. There's still hope in this world.

It's not so bad after all.
