Sam watched as Daryl sat down on the chair next to the bed and ran a hand down his face.
She didn't dare speak. She had never Daryl like this before.
"Yer stupid. How could ye run off like tha'?" He snapped.
Sam's eyes widen and she tries to sit up, after some struggle she manages to.
"Excuse me?"
"Runnin' off like tha' inta the woods Look wha' happend ta ya."
Sam shook her head, she couldn't believe that he was questioning what she did. She saved Sophia. Sure she took a bullet for it but she managed to keep Sophia safe...Atleast she hopes Sophia is safe...
"Don't you dare Dixon. Don't you fucking dare. I saved a little girl. I saved Sophia. So what I got shot?! I managed to make sure she stayed safe. That was my number one priority. Bringing her back to her Mom."
"Ye nearly died!"
"Maybe I wanted to die!"
Daryl stared at her in shock, Sam just glared at him.
"Ye want ta die?" He whispers.
"I'm a burden. Andrea hates me. She blames me for Amy's death. Shane didn't want anything to do with me before I was born, yeah he regrets it but that doesn't change the fact that because of him not taking responsibility for me. HIS kid, me and my Mom got abused. I'm surprised you don't blame me for Merle." Sam says trying to keep her emotions under control.
Daryl stands up and walks to the other side of the bed. He shuffles himself up so he's leaning against the headboard and wraps an arm around Sam.
"'M sorry tha' I exploded like tha'. I...I just worry about ye. Yer like ma little sister 'nd ye mean the world ta me." Daryl says slightly tense.
Sam knew Daryl doesn't talk about his feelings like this. Not to anybody. And not in front of anybody. This made her feel special...She felt loved and wanted.
A knock on the door made Daryl jump and he quickly got off the bed. Sam looked to the door and saw Beth standing there with some clothes.
"Lori, sent these up for you." Beth smiles placing the clothes at the end of the bed.
"Tell her I said thanks." Sam says not looking at Beth.
Beth nods her head and walks out of the room and Daryl looks at Sam, his arms crossed and eyes narrowed.
"The hell was tha' about?" He asks.
Sam turns her head to look at him and gives him a confused look.
"What do you mean?"
"Ye didn't even look at 'er. Has she done something ta ye?" Daryl asks.
"No...I...It's something about her...I just don't like her." Sam shrugs her shoulders.
Another knock on the door, and Hershel walks in.
"Hello Sam." He smiles.
Sam smiles weakly at him and knows Hershel is checking her over again...But he's already done it today. Why again?
"How are you feeling?" He asks.
"Pretty good."
"You're healing faster than expected...Do you feel strong enough to walk around the house? Maybe outside?"
"I could give it a try." Sam shrugs.
Sam looks at Daryl who nods his head and leaves the room followed by Hershel, who closes the door on his way out so she can change into the clean clothes that lay in a neat pile.
She slowly manages to put on the black jeans, but struggles with the T-Shirt.
She lifts her arms up, but hisses in pain and clutches her wound as she leans against the wall for support.
She doesn't hear the door open and tries again, but ends up nearly falling on the bed.
"Here, let me help." Beth says making Sam jump.
"Do you like creeping up on people and nearly giving them a heart attack?" Sam snaps.
"Sorry, my Dad sent me up to check on you...I'm glad he did."
"I don't need your help." Sam growls.
Beth tilts her head to the side and walks up to Sam and gently pushes her on the bed.
"Ow, hey what the fuck?!"
Beth ignores her and grabs the shirt out of her hand and gently grabs her right arm and pulls it through the hole and does the same with the left.
She gently pulls the shirt over her head and helps Sam stand up, she pulls the shirt down at the front and the back.
"Oh, wait." Beth says before leaning in, Sam tenses up and feels Beth reach around behind her neck. She pulls out Sam's hair from inside the shirt and then stands back with a smile.
"There. Want me to put your socks and shoes on?" Beth teases.
"I dare you. See what happens." Sam growls.
Beth laughs and sits on the bed whilst Sam slowly, but surely puts her socks and shoes on.
"Thanks...For helping me." Sam says as she slowly stands up. She reaches for her jacket, and notices the blood. She sighs and throws it on the bed.
"You're welcome. Let's get you downstairs so you can see everyone." Beth says as she walks to the top of the stairs and waits for Sam.
Sam slowly walks over and slowly puts one foot down and steadily makes her way downstairs.
"SAM!" Sophia yells when Sam reaches the bottom.
"Sophia..." Sam whispers as Sophia gently wraps her arms around her. Sam returns the hug and watches as Carol walks over tears in her eyes.
"I can't thank you enough." Carol cries.
Sam smiles and Carol wraps her arms around Sam once Sophia has moved.
"Hey kid." Shane smiles ruffling her hair. Sam rolls her eyes and looks around at her group who are watching with smiles.
Two people catch her eye and she cocks her head slightly.
Beth and some boy are kissing.
Sam looks away, but not quick enough.
"Sam." Beth says walking over with the boy holding her hand..
"Yeah?"
"This is my boyfriend Jimmy."
"Hi." Jimmy says holding his hand out.
"Hey." Sam says shaking his hand.
Sam looked into his eyes and she knew in an instant he couldn't be trusted. She didn't know what it was about him, she didn't feel like she could trust him...Even though she didn't like Beth she wasn't going to stand around and watch her get hurt.
I've got my eyes on you Jimmy. You hurt any of my family, you hurt Beth or her family and you're a dead man. That's not a threat. That's a promise.
