Chapter Ninety

Candles lit up the room, smiles were on peoples faces. Eating and drinking. Having a good time. Feeling safe once again.

Everyone was sat on the floor, except for Gabriel who was in his office.

Sam had her arm around Beth, Beth resting her head on Sam's shoulder.

"I can tell you anything right?" Beth asks quietly.

"Of course you can."

Beth sighs and presses herself closer to Sam, wrapping her arm around Sam's abdomen.

"I...I've been jealous."

"Of what?" Sam asks confused.

"Of you and Lauren. How close you two are...I feel like you're going off me and you want her. I mean...She is prettier than me."

Sam quickly moved away from Beth and shook her head. She turned to face the blonde and took her hands and held them in her lap.

"Lauren and I, we're just friends that's it...She hurt her ankle I've just been helping her. I have no feelings for her. I am completely madly in love with you. You're beautiful, smart, strong and just so fucking amazing. You're a survivor. You're mine. I want you. Not Lauren." Sam says before quickly leaning and pressing her lips against Beth's.

Beth pulls away slowly and shakes her head.

"But you were going to kiss her." She whimpers.

"It was in the heat of the moment, I didn't know what I was doing. We didn't kiss."

"I...I can't do this. Feeling scared that you're going to leave me. I..I need some air..." Beth says quietly before standing up and walking out of the church.

Sam felt her heart slowly breaking. She felt like Beth had just broken up with her...But she didn't use those exact words. She didn't say that they're over..

"Sam? You okay?" Ari asks sitting down next to her.

"I think Beth just broke up with me." She whispered and instantly felt arms wrap around her.

"I'm sure she didn't. Maybe she used the wrong wording. You two will be fine. You always are." Ari says as she strokes Sam's hair.

Suddenly, a loud scream can be heard outside.

"BETH!" Sam yells quickly standing up and grabbing her crossbow and running outside followed by Rick, Daryl, Ari, Michonne and Maggie.

She bursts through the doors in time to see a car driving away. She runs after the car, not stopping for anybody.

She catches a glimpse of someone running beside her and notices Ari.

"We'll get her back. Just keep going." Ari pants.

Sam nods her head and continues to push her legs to run faster.

They run past a car and Ari stops as Sam keeps running.

Sam feels her legs begin to tire and she tastes blood.

She hears a car drive up beside her and looks to see Ari opening the door. Sam quickly gets in, and once she does Ari speeds up chasing after the car that took Beth.

"We're coming Beth...Please be okay."
