Chapter Eighty Two

Nobody's POV

The light of the sun, shining down on Sam is what awoke her from her sleep. She groaned in fustration. She was having the best dream she had, had in a long time. She was dreaming of Beth. Her beautiful smile and her gorgeous eyes. She couldn't wait to see her again.

She slowly opens her eyes, squinting slightly due to the sun shining directly on her. She turned her head to the side and jumped slightly. Her heart beat quickend due to the scare but soon slowed down again.

Lauren was asleep next to her, her hand gripping onto Sam slightly, a few tears still falling down her face. She remembered how hard it was to get Lauren to try and sleep. She knew what it felt like to lose someone close. She's been feeling that way a lot recently.

She carefully moved away from Lauren and stood up. She stretched her arms out and she yawned. She let out a small groan when she heard and felt her back click.

She hated sleeping on the hard ground, it's times like these where she misses the RV...The farm and the prison, but she would always miss the farm and prison, they were her home. Her safe place, but nowhere is safe anymore. Either walkers destroy homes, or evil sick people do.

She bit her lip slightly and brought her hand to her face and felt the scar that sick bastard left.

She lets out a sigh and turns around, Maggie is walking towards her and she doesn't look happy.

"We need to talk." She says quietly and grabs Sam's arm dragging her away from the others who are slowly waking up one by one.

Maggie leads her away from the group and she pushes her against a tree roughly.

"I don't know what's going on in that mind of yours Sam, but my sister, your girlfriend is still out there. Even if she's not here I'm not going to let you hurt her." Maggie growls.

Sam's eyes widen and she tries to wriggle free from Maggie's grip but it's no use. The more she struggles the tighter Maggie's grip becomes.

"I would never hurt Beth! I love her! Why would you even say that?" Sam hisses.

"I saw the way Lauren was getting close to you. She was getting a little too close."

Sam let's out a small laugh and rests her head on the tree and shakes her head.

"Really? We only just met, she lost her sister, it was just a hug! I was being nice to her. It's not like we went behind a tree and had sex is it?!"

Maggie loosens her grip on Sam causing Sam to roughly remove Maggie's hands from her jacket.

The older woman places a hand on her forhead and sighs.

"You're right. I'm sorry, you're not like that...I'm just worried...What if you start to like Lauren? I just don't want Beth to get hurt."

Sam smiles and grabs Maggie's hand and presses it against her own chest, where her heart is.

"Can you feel that?" Sam asks.

Maggie gives her a confused look but nods her head. "Yes, it's your heartbeat."

"The only thing keeping this heart beating is Beth. My heart beats for her. Without her I'd be dead. Finding her is what is keeping me alive."

Maggie smiles and pulls Sam in for a hug and holds her close.

"We'll find her." Maggie whispers.

"I know we will." Sam smiles.

They soon pull away and walk back to the group where Lisa, Merle and Lauren are burying Dani. Glenn greets them with two bowls of some sort of food.

They sit down and eat in silence and watch the two sisters and Merle. Soon they have finished burying their little sister and everyone remains silent as Lisa and Lauren talk to their sister. Saying goodbye, saying how much they love her.

"Say hi to Kat, Christina and Amy for us." Lauren says her voice breaking slightly.

"And Mom and Dad." Lisa finishes wrapping her arm around Lauren and pulling her close as the younger sister begins to cry.

"This is bullshit." Lauren mutters and breaks free from Lisa and runs away.

Sam jumps up and runs after her, she manages to catch up but she's still weak from the illness. She grabs Lauren's arm and tries to stop her, but ends up loosing her balance and the pair fall to the ground. Sam groans as Lauren's elbow finds it's way on to her leg by accident.

"Sorry." Lauren whispers looking down at Sam who is underneath her.

"I've had far worst, trust me."

Lauren manages a small smile and sits on Sam's legs and wipes her eyes. Sam struggles to sit up but she manages to.

"I'm sorry about Dani." Sam says sadly and holds Lauren's hands.

"I just can't believe she's gone." Lauren whispers and looks up into Sam's eyes.

Lauren's eyes land on Sam's scar and she gently traces it.

"I can't say you'll move on and forget because you won't, but it does get easier. It's like running with a back pack full of heavy rocks. It's going to weigh you down but eventually it gets lighter, but sometimes you'll feel it pull you down again." Sam says ignoring the fact Lauren is touching her scar.

"What happend?" Lauren asks ignoring what Sam had just said.

"A bad man...He...He hurt me. He tried to hurt my family...I..He..." Sam feels like she's going to cry, memories of The Governor fills her mind.

"I'm sorry." Lauren whispers sadly. "I seem to fuck up a lot." She looks down saddness in her eyes.

"You didn't know, it's fine. I promise you didn't fuck up." Sam smiles at her.

Lauren looks up and pushes some hair behind Sam's ears and slowly leans in, stopping to see Sam's rection, Sam doesn't pull away and just as their lips are about to touch, Lauren is tackled to the ground.

Sam quickly jumps up and pulls the person off of Lauren and turns around quickly getting ready to punch whoever tried to kill her.

Her eyes widen and she walks slowly towards the person and reaches her hand out to make sure she's not seeing things. When her hand touches the person's cheek she gasps.

"It's really you?" She whispers.

"It's really me."

She feels tears stinging her eyes and she smiles as they fall. She wraps her arms around the person in a tight hug .

"I thought we'd lost you..That I lost you."

"You're never losing me again. I promise. I love you."

Sam leans in and as their lips touch, she feels her heart do flips. She pulls away quickly and smiles.

"I love you too Beth Greene."
