Chpater 43 Bond

 "Who are my real parents?" I asked them, they hadn't answered and the three butlers looked at each other. "Who are my parents? They're not the ones that have lied to me for the past 15 years of my life."

  "They are your aunt and uncle," grandfather said, "How did you find out?"

  "Through my intuition, also the woman I had been living with confirmed it at the hospital."

  "Hospital, what happened?"

  "Miss Violet's in a coma due to a kidnapper." Moose said. "She's okay but the doctors don't know when she'll wake up."

  "Good heavens, we should get going and see her." Grandmother said.

  "Luke, take her I still have to talk to Katie." Grandfather looked over to Grandmother and whispered something to her. She hesitated but then nodded and excused herself. It is heartless that grandfather didn't go with grandmother to go see about Violet but he looked determined to tell me the truth.

  "Why didn't you tell me? What does the big marriage have to do about anything anyway? Those two people that came the other day, who were they?" I kept asking questions ready to find out the answer.

  "I didn't tell you because it would be dangerous, finding out like whatever you did was safer. This marriage is actually real, they're grandfather wanted this and asked for my consent, you would have to ask him as to why and those two people you will meet later."

  "Grandfather, I don't understand why you just didn't tell me first?"

  "The people that went after Violet today were after you so you would step down as heir. I fear there is someone inside the family trying to get rid of you to be the heir."

  "Wouldn't Jon be the heir if I died?"

  "It's not that simple, your father was the heir but when he died it was passed on to you, if you died then the families would fight over who would be the heir. It's like a pirate's court on king, they all vote for themselves."

  "What was my previous life?"

  "What?" he asked as if he was surprised.

  "I can't remember anything of before I was 7, I have a great memory but I can't remember anything." He slowly came to me and sat next to me and patted my head.

  "What I'm about to tell you is going to be the hardest thing, if you don't want me to say anymore you just need to say it, are you sure you want to know everything right now?" Did I want to know? If I somehow managed to get my memories back would I have an agonizing pain remembering my father and mother?

  "How did they die?" I asked. He looked at me carefully before answering, he had hesitated.

  "I don't think it's the proper time for it, all you need to know is that they died loving you." he smiled, I had tears, gosh I made that promise and it's been 8 years and have not once broken it until now. He hugged me. My grandfather was not the bad guy.

  "Can you at least tell me more about them?"

  "They were good people, the one who would know more than me would be your fiancé’s grandfather." he said. I had realized now that this was also a tactic in the engagement, I needed to meet with my future grandfather to find out more about my family but I couldn't use Adam. To be honest now, I like him, he's made me feel calm and feel something I've never had but I needed to find out about my family, I had to keep this a secret from him. Grandfather yawned and he had never done this in front of me, I laughed a bit and Moose was still there.

  "Moose help my grandfather to bed please." he nodded and took him upstairs as I followed behind. Before Moose went with my grandfather he looked back at me.

  "Miss Katie, I will always be in your service no matter what, please depend on me." I was a bit astounded to hear this but I nodded.

  "Thank you Moose, please just call me Katie." he also chuckled. He had one more thing to say.

  "You are a very strong girl, Katie." I only nodded and excused myself to bed, I called Nick and Klaude, thanked them for everything, we were sharing a line.

  "So, that man, how did he know where your sis-- I mean Violet's first picture was taken?" Klaude asked.

  "I don't know, the voice was someone I had never heard of from anyone I know but it kind of bugs me." I said.

  "Have you told anyone about your family before?" Nick asked.

  "The only ones that I have told are you guys, the twins, and Alex." 

  "Hmmm, well all three of us know it's neither me nor Nick and I can't honestly say it's the King or the Jokers because we're all family. Maybe someone that works for you like the butlers?"

  "They already knew about my family and they were handpicked with a thorough investigation."

  "Well whoever it is, you need to be careful Katie." Nick said.

  "I know, but I don't want you two to be involved."

   "I have a whole security team ready in a blink of an eye. I think Nick and I will be just fine."

  "Sorry, but whatever happens I want to protect my loved ones." I said.

  "We also want to protect you." Nick said.

  "Thank you, we have school tomorrow so let's get some sleep, also never tell this of anyone." I said.

  "Okay, but make sure to come to me or the twins, I actually had them on the line too." Klaude said with a mischievous voice.

   "Hey, glad to hear it! Next time, call us so we can protect you." one of them said. I was going to get Klaude for this, double. I signed off and changed my clothes. Before I went to bed I got a text from Adam.

  'Are you okay?' it read. I smiled and typed back that I was fine. We kept texting on and on until I couldn't reply anymore and fell asleep.
