I wake up and I'm alone in this empty house, it's Sunday. I want to go to the hospital but due to Grandpa’s case, only one person is allowed and I figured if its best that Grandmother was there with him. Nobody is here except for Mace but I let him do whatever he wanted, he prepared me some cereal which was nice and we both ate it in front of the T.V.
"This is depressing." he said with cereal chips in his mouth.
"Yeah but I guess we can't help it." I said sipping some milk. "How's Moose and Luke?"
"They're doing alright. I mean Moose practically woke the whole neighborhood calling me this morning. He couldn't stop complaining about making breakfast for the two princesses." he said. I softly laughed, of course Charlie and Alise would complain about breakfast. Now the feud was finally over but I had to wonder, during the play, how Mia got the script for the second stage. No one was with us when that happened so how did she get a hold of that? We practiced privately. We didn't even practice in the Rose Palace so how did she get a hold of our play? I suddenly got a call and I picked it up wondering who would be calling this early.
"Hello?"
"Are you okay? How's your grandfather but are you okay?" the voice rang through my ears. I was shaking by just having it a few inches away from my ear.
"Yeah, I'm fine, what about you?" I asked Adam.
"I'm okay, actually a few minutes from your house."
"What? My house, you didn't walk out all the way there to here did you?"
"No," He laughed, "Actually I left as soon as you left but had a little of a traffic problem."
"How did you get there?"
"Luke dropped me by a car shop, bought one from there."
"Bought one?"
Yeah, it was only a few thousand."
"A few thousand?! Adam, you may come from the richest family alive but you have a car and a person to drive it at that!"
"Lighten up, oh I'm at your front door by the way." he said. The door bell rang and I just sighed to answer to Adam. He had his arms wide open waiting me to hug him but I stood at the door leaning and just tapping my feet away. "Not even an expression?"
"Adam, I'm glad you're here but you could have waited."
"I know, but I just wanted to get there as soon as I could."
"Yeah, for a butt load of money, I know your rich but you need to be careful."
"I know," he said hugging me, "But I just really wanted to get here to see you and I'm not letting go until you kiss me." He was so childish, I still had my arms crossed and he was still clinging onto me.
"Come on, you know you want to do it." he whispered in my ear. I shivered a little bit. His voice was giving me goose bumps. We stood there for a few minutes and I knew he was growing impatient. He sighed and closed his eyes.
"I'm not going to wait forever." I kissed his cheek and I guess it was a surprise and he let go instantly.
"There," I said looking away, "you got the kiss." He laughed and just hugged me from the back some more as I tried going inside. Mace looked behind and he almost choked on his cereal at the sight of us stifling a laugh. Adam made a bowl of cereal and all three of us ate in front of the T.V. together.
"Hey, so I'm going to skip school tomorrow and I already talked to the teachers about it and they said since I'm at the top I'm alright."
"Why are you skipping school?" Mace asked me.
"To meet with a friend."
"Is this friend a guy?" Adam asked me seriously.
"It's someone from the Rose Court so calm down." I retorted.
"Sure, I'll tell Luke." Mace said. Adam just stared at me intently and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not already cheating on you so calm yourself." I said getting up to go change. It was too much of a depressing day to do anything, I just wanted to go to the hospital and be with him, make sure he was okay but they wouldn't allow me in so I had to stay here and take care of all the meetings that he usually had, actually there's one today that I have to go to but wearing a pantsuit does not suit me. I sighed, I looked at the clock and I had an hour before the meeting so I went to go change, just simple black pants and a white puffed shirt would have to do I guess.
"Mace, are you ready?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said getting off the couch, "Let's go."
"I'll come back later okay? I'll call you when I'm done, say hi to Claire for me?" I asked.
"Fine, just be careful." Adam whined.
"I will." I said kissing his cheek and going to the meeting. We were in the car going downtown to the meeting since that was where headquarters was.
"So, you up and ready to talk in front of people?" he asked while driving.
"Are you kidding me? Why couldn't John take my spot?"
"He's not the true heir so he can't." I sighed, one of these days I was going to make him take care of this for me.
"One could only hope." I sighed.
"Well, let the blood bath begin." he said pulling up to the building.
