The guys and I were setting up the glasses and forks, Alex was also helping seeing as the other four were still pissed at each other. Everyone sat quietly waiting for dinner, I gave dishes to Adam, Alex and Carter while Moose gave the girls there dishes. I set it down in front of the boys one by one.
"Thanks," Carter said.
"I hope you enjoy, I wanted to make something everyone would like." I said. They all sat quietly and didn't even try to eat. I think Alex tried changing the atmosphere.
"This looks delicious."
"I used to cook a lot when I was alone so I've done some experimenting in the kitchen. Actually when I cooked, no one would eat it." I said shyly.
"Well, I definitely can't wait to try it." Carter said. I smiled at him but I think that was the wrong thing to do because Adam glared at me and Charlie said something I knew she was going to say.
"Why did you keep the engagement from me?"
"Here we go." Alise said.
"Shut up Alice!" Alise just rolled her eyes and Charlie repeated the question again.
"This isn't really the time--"
"Oh so when is the time? You've kept this away from me for months and I just hear about it now?" she said franticly.
"Look, I have my reasons as everyone else does." I said.
"I told you, I hate liars, so tell me the truth now!" she said harshly.
"I will, but let's eat first, I said holding up my dish to hers.
"I want the truth!" she said and she slapped her hand to my dish and it fell on the floor, the pasta fell in one piece and I just looked at it. She had a look of remorse but she was trying to stand strong and I looked at her.
"You know what?" I said towards her. "I'm sorry that I lied to you, I'm sorry I kept my engagement a secret from you and not try to hurt you," I took one final breath and said, "I'm sorry that I was such a bad friend trying to make things right." And with that I ran out the door and just sat near the pool bending my head down between the knees. It's impossible to make a girl listen when she doesn't want to listen, it makes my head spin all around and it's so hard just to keep cool. I looked at the moon, why was it shinning so brightly, I felt alone. I decided to call the two most important people in the world, the phone rang and someone picked up.
"Katie?"
"Kevin?"
"Yeah, what's up is something wrong?"
"No, I just wanted to talk to you." I said casually.
"Do you want to talk to Elliot? He's in a meeting now if you want you can talk to him now."
"No don’t, he should focus on the meeting. I just really wanted to hear one of my brother's voices." I sighed.
"What's wrong? You sound down, did something happen?" I was too obvious but he was my brother.
"Yeah, let's just say I'm having a fight with a friend."
"Boyfriend?"
"Kevin! No, I don’t have one unless you count a fiancé." I said, why would I have a boyfriend, I'm engaged to be married. He laughed on the other end.
"Hmm, what kind of problems?" he asked.
"You know how they say some secrets are meant to be kept secret for a good reason?"
