"We had accumulated a huge debt from the Summers and they were relentless with the money."

"Why? How did we come up to that debt?"

"Someone from the inside had foolishly given money to other companies and spending it all on foolish deeds. To this day we have no idea who had done it but the debt was settled."

  "By who?"

"Your father, he was a brilliant man, everyone understood him, everyone stood next to him. There was one other person that stood by him more than anyone else."

  "Was that my mother?"

"No, she was not your mother. Don't misunderstand, your mother stood next to your father and loved him but this woman would have done anything like abandon her own children, lead her line to bankruptcy just for him. She was the mother of your betrothed and to add the irony to that. Their father loved your mother too." That sounded so wrong, I wanted to gag a little.

"As weird as it may have sounded your father was a remarkably handsome young man." Grandfather half smiled.

"Grandfather, no I don't-- spare me the details .Just start off on how my father erased that debt."

"He was a remarkable young man, brains I had never imagined in my life when your grandmother gave birth to him. He came up with technology that was out of this world, he came up with efficient household security. Cars that even celebrity themselves would have to kill themselves for. He came up with so many but that wasn't even more surprising. Your mother took the initiative to start a recording company. At first all of us didn't think it would be successful but she found rare stones and made them into the sun. She chose them each by herself, from movie stars to actors, she trained them herself and they became so well known that they were too elite to put into the tabloids. Your mother had the eyes of a cheetah and yet walked gracefully. She had produced so many stars that we had too much money, paying off the debt was settled."

"So how does the engagement come into play?"

"The deal had been made after the debt. We later found out it was due to the influence of the Summers, they influenced people to listen or to watch those stars, or at least Mr. Summers did, but it was your mother who chose the stars herself. People started buying the products because Mrs. Summers started using those electronics. Mr. and Mrs. Summers still do love each other but there attraction to your parents was something nobody could ever understand. In exchange for them to advertise, it was one simple thing, for their children to be married."

"So the heads were to marry,"

"Yes, because of the Summers we had to go into debt and because of the Summers you were to wed one of their sons."

"How did the Summers make my family go into debt?" I said raising my voice. Of all the mad people, they used love as an excuse for money. They used my parents to do their own bidding.

"We know of one thing, whoever spent the money was a spy for them."

"Why would you tell me this?" I said wavering.

"It does not matter to me what you do here on out, that is your decision."

"I am marrying a person that put my family into debt, who knows what else they did! I could have been happy without knowing this."

"Why? Because you are marrying their son? Do you love him?"

"I don't know anymore Grandfather! I thought I did but now I don't know if I like him let alone love him." Imagine Adam as part of the family that took down my family, I couldn't think of it. Someone had knocked on the door and it was Luke.
