"Alright, you know I never knew that you would have a knack for this." Alex said.
"Mmm, there's a lot you don't know about me, Alex." I said going into the kitchen.
"Right, because your oh so mysterious." I rolled my eyes and poured him a glass of lemonade I prepared a while ago. He's been helping me with my new present since yesterday. Alise came home really happy and I bet she was even happier after Alex spent the day at the house. She got the internship and the designer told her that her designs were new and fresh for the market.
"I can't believe Alise is going to work under a designer. She'll be great and it's going to make her recognized."
"Yeah, I just can't believe she's going to let herself out like that." Alex said.
"Are you saying that's a good thing or a bad thing?"
"It's a bit of both."
"How so?" I asked putting glasses up.
"I like the direction she's going, she's finally pursuing her dream but by working under someone?"
"Well you've got to start somewhere right?"
"Her mom is a judge."
"I guess but isn't it better to grab her dream by herself rather than my mom."
"That and my mother hasn't ever looked at me the slightest." Alise said coming down the stairs. She probably heard most of our conversation. She came down and took a sip of Alex's lemonade. "Mmm, strong just a little bit." she said setting it down.
"Is your relationship with her really that bad?"
"It was always bad, she loved Alice and my brothers more than me."
"I don't think that's the case." Alex said.
"What do you know Alex? You and Alice spent time with my mother, I got deported off to New Orleans to a boarding school. After Alice died she couldn't look me without seeing Alice, I'll always be Alice's shadow." I held her hand and gave a sympathetic smile. The only reason why Alise would never lash out at me is because she knew my situation was just like hers with Violet. Violet still hasn't waken up, I wonder when she'll wake up because this is also her favorite holiday. Someone knocked on the door and it was my time to leave.
"Okay, Alex you can stay here as much as you want." I said grabbing my purse and keys.
"No he can't." Alise said strongly.
"I think I will." he said arrogantly. I waved as Alise and Alex were having an argument. well it was more entertainment for Alex.
"Those two are as lively as ever." Adam said.
"Well I wish one of them would be honest with the other." I sighed.
"Hey, we were just like that." he said kissing me. We got into the car and drove into an outlet. He tried singing as we were driving and I kept laughing and begging him to stop until we got into the parking lot.
"You are terrible at singing."
"I happen to think it was very nice." he said. I just shook my head laughing as he linked arms with me to go into the shops. We went everywhere, well it was mostly for his family anyway. We went looking for great toys for Claire, shoes and he even went looking for a present for Carter.
"Don't you think this is a bit much for Claire?" I asked lifting up several bags. "Your family spoil her a little too much."
"Well we can't spoil her enough." he said. "Oh, another shop!" Really he was more of a girl than I was. When I went in after him I noticed this wasn't a typical shop for a 10 year old.
