Chapter 48 Romeo

All week the whole court avoided me, well except Klaude, Nick and Alex but even the twins were avoiding me and we're like best friends and they knew about my engagement thing so why are they avoiding me. The whole court officially knew about it but they're not the only ones avoiding people, I completely avoided Carter and Adam especially Adam. I couldn't even look him in the eye and make a retort towards him, I couldn't even look at Damon because I woukd see Adam in him. Thank God for Alex though he knew how awkwars it would be but I was sitting alone up in the secret place the twins would hang out. There's a time when I'm a bit happy that Damon does talk to me but I have no idea why. Someone came in and I sat up to see who it was, it was John and Andrew and when they saw me they stared at me for a brief moment and John just went out angrily and Andrew was about to follow behind but I stopped him. 

"Wait!" I shouted. Andrew stopped for me and I pulled him in and made him sit outside with me. "What's wrong with you two? Why are you avoiding me, you knew I was in this situation."

"We know, it's just John never really wanted it to happen." he said through gritted teeth.

"What?"

"He never really wanted you to choose either of those two."

"Why?"

"Katie, you may be smart but you're obviously oblivious, he likes you." I just stood silent, no one has ever liked me, let alone even think about liking me.

"He likes me?" Andrew nodded and I just brushed my hair in exasperation. "He has never given me any signs to this, are you sure?"

"I'm his brother, he always talks to you first he's not really good at showing his emotions, you see we've always been around ourselves until Alex showed up but that's because he's the one who wanted to be friends first, this is the first time John has ever talked to a person first let alone be friends."

"Why, he's surrounded everyday."

"By people who talked to him first, when John and I were little we never had friends, we were reserved and heartless."

"Why?"

"We have always been betrayed, if a girl liked us she wouldn't care which one of us went out with her because to her we were the exact same. When you were able to tell us apart, it made him feel special." He said, he got up and left while I just sat there. Is he freaking kidding? John liking me, we're best friends and I don't want any relationship and besides I have to be married to Adam.

"Why can't it ever be 'He just doesn't want friends to be taken away.'" I sighed, I went back downstairs and just walked into the hallways, I really didn't want to go to class, if there was a way I could skip without trouble. I heard a crash nearby and looked behind me, books and papers everywhere, someone was picking them up and they looked like they were in a hurry, I helped her out and picked up the papers.

"Thanks, I'm a really big clutz." she said.

"It's no problem, you shouldn't carry so many things at a time." I looked as to see who it was and I remember her, she was part of the Alice Court. "You're Lucy Yule right? Dad owns Yule Acadamey right?" she looked up and gave me the same eyes of recognition.

"Katie Long, the girl who stood up to Alice and the one who gave the victory to the Rose Court." We both just looked at each other and laughed.

"Quite an introduction." I said getting up and hoisting the papers with me.

"Yeah, usually if we were to meet like this you would completely ignore me."

"Nah, I'm not that type of person, I go by what I do." She lifted her stack and I helped her take it to wherever. Of course it was on the other side of this mass school.

"Why is it so far?" I complained.

"Hah, my dad likes big things so he wanted to make Yule Academy big." she smiled. "You know I heard you coming down from the stairs and your stomps sounded like you were angry, was something wrong?"

"Ah, let's just say boy troubles."

"I know the feeling." she said.

"You have problems, your dad?" She looked at me and just chuckled.

"No, I've actually never told anyone let alone a stranger but I am dating someone, I just don't know if everyone would approve."

"What is it like a secret Romeo and Juliet? You know how well that ended." We laughed again and she sort of nodded.

"You could say that, I mean it's a mass secret between us, it's been going on for quite some time and no one has ever found out about us."

"You've never told the Alice Court?" She just scoffed and kept walking.

"They wouldn't care, besides if they knew thye wouldn't let me live my life."

"Is he that bad?" I asked, I mean the Alice Court looked like they cared for there friends but you never know.

"He's smart, funny, adorable and all the things you would look in a boyfriend but the Alice Court would never let me through with this."

"Well, like I say, do what you do. I don't ever listen to anyone, yeah I'll take in there opnions but in the end it matters what you think would do more good. They say do what you think is best but I always do what I think would benefit others more." We passed by and I saw Klaude waving.

"Thank God you're here, the twins have been avoiding me and you and Nick are the only ones not." I sighed.

"Well love, you really can't help it, you hid your engagement from everyone not to mention John has had a crush on you for quite some time." he said laughing. He noticed the papers and Lucy, he just smiled and took the papers out of her grasp.

"I can do them." she said trying to take them back, but he just swayed around when she tried grabbing them.

"It's better for me to do them Lucy." I shrugged and she showed us the way and we set it into the principal's office.

"I'll just tell the teachers you were helping the principal, thanks." she said. I looked around the front desk, the desks were nice even the ones in the class room. This room really was rich and I couldn't help but feel like I remember this place. I looked on the desk to see brochures of other sister schools, they have sister schools all around, not just here in Oregon. I looked through the brochures and found a sister school in London, it was exactly like this, the school was actually originated in London. London was where my supposed brothers were and I really wanted to know more about my real parents, nobody was in the office right now so I went to go see Lucy. When I opened my eyes you would only dream of seeing this.

"Hmm, for one I never thought it would be Klaude of all people," I said smiling, " And two way to keep it subtle." I said. They both stared at me and they had a look of shame. I couldn't help but monopolize this situation, "So how long has it been going on?"

"Since the first year we met." Lucy said shyly, she hid behind Klaude and Klaude just looked at me.

"You know the Alice Court and the Guardian Court would definitely not approve of this." I said tapping my pointing finger to my chin, "Well, I guess they don't have to know." I said, I walk away and take the brochure with me, I'd have to look into this another time, tomorrow I'd have to go on that stupid trip Alex got me in.

"Katie!" someone called after me, it was Klaude and he ran up to me.

"Thanks." he said as I kept walking.

"What for?"

"You know." he said sheepishly. I turned to him and looked at him, he was a bit flushed and I couldn't help laugh.

"Sometimes you have to take risks and damn the consequences Klaude, maybe after this Saturday you guys can officially do it without secrecy." I waved and just went on to my class.
