I had awaked very early, it was still night out but I just kept looking at the fan that was going around in circles. What happened to my family? Why don't I remember them, and that boy with a piano was there again, but this time with a violin. It was the same melody I had played on the piano with Adam. I waited until the dawn of light had struck to change my clothes. I came downstairs and someone was there, I crept quietly to see who it was, and it was Carter.
"What are you doing in here? How did you get in here?" I asked.
"I know about Alise but never tell Charlie the truth, please." he said.
"What do you mean? I have no idea what you're talking about."
"I have no intention of going back to Charlie." he said.
"Look, I have no idea what you're going on about so please just start from the beginning Carter, I already had a big mess yesterday." I said yawning.
"Alise will probably apologize but you can't ever tell Charlie about anything, nothing about Alise or Alice's death."
"Why?" I asked. "Charlie has the right to know, she was her best friend or former."
"I'm doing this for her own sake, I want her to hate me, I'd rather she hate me."
"You're so infuriating," I spat, "It is not your decision of whether or not she finds out or not only time will tell," I said, looking out the window, "Only time will tell."
"It would be too much."
"Why are you telling me this? Shouldn't you be saying it to Alise?"
"You are her best friend, she likes being around you besides this is a way I can protect her."
"You still love her," I said, he didn't say anything, I let out a laugh. "You want her to yourself, what if she was to go off with Alex. They do make a good fit ever since you dumped her." I retorted, he just had a look and I laughed once again. I patted him and just looked at him.
"Don't give up on your love, Alise doesn't even love you, she and you know that. I know why you're keeping it from Charlie, because if she found out the truth of her best friend then it would devastate her that she's hated the wrong person and has hated for no reason. Charlie is a caring person, one with compassion." I said. "You don't wanna lose that." I said hugging him, it was as if he was a child trying to carry a burden and I just wanted to hug him. Someone had rung the doorbell and I went to go see who it was.
"Hello?" The person came in and Carter had a strong expression.
"Charlie." he said. Charlie looked at me and back at him.
"What are you doing here, what is he doing here?" she asked me frantically.
"Charlie it's not what you think." I said.
"Calm down Charlie--"
"Don't say that, you have no right to call me by that nick name." she said angrily at him. He looked saddened and I have to say, I had to pity him she looked at me.
"Here, the invitation to my party, invite anyone." she said hesitantly.
"It's not what--"
"Please, don't say anything." she said leaving. She slammed the door that could have woken up everyone. I knew what today was going to be like already, I turned to Carter. He was still saddened by what Charlie had said.
"See, you do love her."
"That doesn't give any excuse as to what I did to her."
"But you had a reason right?" he stayed silent. I looked at the invite, Adam told me I could bring one person but on this it said to invite anyone also she said that too. "Come to the party with me." I said.
