Chapter 67 Into the Winter

"Stop grinning at me like that!" I said towards Alise.

 "I can't help it, it's a bit cute don't you think?" she giggled. She was overjoyed that I had gotten this promise necklace from Adam and ever since I told her, I was blushing madly.

"Well, I'm going to go to see my brother off to the airport." I said leaving her. Today, Elliot was going back home and it was nice having him around. I can't help but feel this is deja vu though. Grandfather was also coming back today and to top it all off, Christmas break was starting tomorrow. The week went by faster than I expected. I just got engaged with a promise ring, I got to be with my brother for a couple of days and I at least found out about my family history even though it wasn't good.

 "Good day Miss Katie, right this way." Moose said greeting me.

 "Thank you Moose, is Elliot on his way?"

"Yes m'am, he's heading straight there taking care of the plane as we speak."

 "Good, drive straight there Mace."

"You got it!" We're heading over to the airport and Elliot is there looking at his watch.

 "Elliot!" I call out.

 "Katie!" he waves at me and I run straight to him.

 "It's been fun having you around. I'm going to miss you little sis."

 "Yes, I am too! Tell Kevin hi for me!"

 "He'll be jealous that I got to spend time with you."

 "I love you." I smiled.

 "I love you too. I'm just a call away."

 "Everyone flying to London, please board now." The P.A. system called out.

 "That's my cue." he said getting his bags. I grabbed onto his bag and looked at him.

 "I'll call you when I make my decision."

 "Don't make it because I want you to. Make it because you want it to little sis." he said ruffling my hair. He went on leave and I looked at his straight back.

 "I'll see you again!" I shouted. He just put his hand in the air and waved without turning back. I didn't leave the airport until I saw Elliot's plane leave. After that, Mace took me straight to the hospital to pick up Grandfather and Grandmother. Once we had gotten there, Luke was checking my Grandfather out and my Grandmother was caring for him. I waved over and Grandmother gave me a small wave.

 "Hello Grandfather, Grandmother, " I said showing my respect.

 "Please take me out, I am capable of checking out myself." Grandfather said.

 "We will get you out as soon as possible, please be patient a little longer." I said.

 "My, you've grown, your manners and posture have changed in just a few months." Grandmother said. I only smiled a little bit. Coming home was a bit awkward, it was silent throughout the whole ride. We come home and the butlers take in the clothes that Grandmother brought to the hospital. Once we get home, Grandmother and the butlers go into the guest bedroom to prepare Grandfather room since the doctor said not to over exert himself. I go to set up some nice tea. I come over and set it down in front of Grandfather.

 "You seem to surprise me everyday, Katie." he said.

 "How so, Grandfather?"

 "You took the news how I thought you would but usually it would take weeks to process all of the information."

 "Grandfather, before Elliot ever came to take care of work for you, I was in charge. It felt right, I'll admit. Though I took care of all the work, I still don't think I'm fit to run a third of the company yet."
