"It was me, Carter and Alice. We were best friends and by the time I got to middle school I had a crush on Carter and I would tell Alice everything. She always nodded and put up a smile, I guess I fell for the fake smile she had on." she said twitching her eyes. "Soon Carter asked me to the dance and then we ended up going out together just a year before we became high schoolers. It was fun and we had been dating for two and a half years but when we got to high school, things just began to change. Rumors started going out that I was cheating on him and we'd always be fighting and I always told him that wasn't true. There was a party and Carter and I didn't go together even though we were a couple, we went to the party seperately. I wasn't drinking but everyone else was and it made me sick a bit. I went upstairs and I came into a room, at first I thought it was the bathroom and then I found something horrid." I think I knew what she was about to say until she finally said it.

"Alice and Carter. Wrapped in each other's arm, naked. Clothes on the groud, sheets covering each other and protections on the floor." she said slowly. Didn't think Alice would be as low as that, or Carter for that matter.

"He was the first one to wake up before he could vaguely see my hair, I went out of that house and never came back, I cried for the rest of that night. The very next day Alice was the first to greet me but I brushed her off, and with her ego and all that she asked me what's wrong and I told her what I saw. I thought she would have a horrified look and all but she didn't she only smirked and told me 'You finally figured it out.' My eyes widened that day and she laughed. 'Did you really think random people made up that rumor?' Then she laughed again."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Nothing, the only thing I did was look at her with a horrid expression then she gave me a smirk saying 'I finally have the thing I need to break you.' That was the final strike, and my heart broke." She said with some tears dripping down into her tea, she tried to swipe it away but they just kept falling down. I grabbed a napkin and she let out a forced giggle.

"Funny thing though, Carter acted like nothing happened and so I told him that we should break up. At first he was really against it and I couldn't stop it, then I made a lie up to stop all of it."

"Did it involve Adam?" I asked. She nodded, "He was passing by and I grabbed onto him and told Carter I had been cheating on him with Adam and Carter looked really surprised. So I let out a forced smirk and I guess Adam caught onto it and confrmed it, ever since we haven't talked. Soon Alice formed her court and made Carter by using the best friend card. I was already in the Guardians by then because Alex was there for me since two of my 'friends'," she said sarcastically, "betrayed me."

"I put you in here because I wanted you to know that we'll never betray you." Alex said coming towards us. "You've finally opened up to everyone in the court." he said with a sly smirk, she let out a little laugh and left us.

"Did you always know that it was going to happen to her?" I asked.

"Yes, I've been best friends with her since the moment we met, right when I met Alice I knew."

"Why didn't you say anything?" I asked.

"It would hurt her too much not being able to do it herself, she's strong Ace but you can only go ever so far." he smiled sadly.

"Has it ever happened to you?" I asked then I realized what I was asking and immediately took it back but he chuckled. "My mother and father split because father was cheating on her. It hurt my mom so much and it was difficult for her when dad begged her not to do this but she just couldn't stay with him anymore." he said sadly.

"Why do you think Charlie finally told me?"

"It's a test, once you meet the Alice Court and you see her wrath but don't question it then you pass. It means you aren't the type of person to gossip which none of us in the Guardians are unless it's about the Alice Court."

"So by not asking she would tell me?"

"That's her way of trusting, I mean you would to if that had happened to you." he said. I shrugged, maybe I would if I did have friends back then.

"So, what did Adam do?"

"He went with it, he never questioned it then he came back to school one day with a bruised lip and he never talked to Charlie or us again." he sighed.

"Well I guess he just didn't want to ruin his friendship with his brother." I said taking a sip, he nodded and took a sip of his tea.
