I closed the Comparative Politics book after reading it for 4 hours. This is the third Political Science subject book I have finished reading on this day. Law must be really hard, but that's what I wanted to study since I started to become aware of how politics works because of my family.

In just two weeks, I will be attending my first day of class at the San Agustin University of Politics as a first-year college student. Though waiting for those 2 weeks, I can't help but feel bored.

Wala na bang ibibilis ang oras?

"Happy Birthday Yvon!" a cheerful greeting from my loud cousin.

Yes, I just turned 18 years old today, September 9th.

All girls in my age are probably dreaming of having a grand debut, except me. Well of course my parents wanted me to have the grandest debut and also, these two girls in front of me never stopped bugging me just to make me say yes to having the dream birthday celebration as when a girl turns 18. No luck for them, as being me, no one can change my mind.

"Thanks," I said, just looking at them in a second, and turned my attention again to the bookshelf I was facing.

Kumpleto ang mga libro sa library namin dito sa San Agustin Mansion. This library was built and designed much older than my grandparents.

Binalik ko yung hawak kong libro at naghanap pa ng ibang babasahin. "Philippine Public Administration..." that book catches my eyes. I've been reading for 10 hours but I'll only stop if my brain said so.

Being a lawyer runs in our blood. My father's side came from a family of lawyers. San Agustin is known by everyone, that's why even without doing anything, everyone already knew me as the heir of San Agustin's bloodline. Which makes me irritated on most days.

I hate being popular in school, media, news... everywhere. I hate talking, answering lame questions, being captured with stolen photos, and having no personal life. I cannot make any mistakes, especially when it comes to politics... no rules must be broken.

"May regalo kami sayo, Yvon," my younger sister tried to get my attention by putting the wrapped box on the sofa.

She is Kaye San Agustin, the most kikay, bubbly, and fashionista in my family. I am two years older than her. She never called me 'ate' because we grew up in California. Saka lang kami tumira dito sa Philippines nung mag grade 7 siya. My mother is half Korean and Japanese while my father is half Spanish and Filipino.

"Open it, Yvon!" nakangiting sinabi ni Cassandra, tinuro ang malaking box.

She's Cassandra San Agustin, my cousin. She's only two months older than me, pero saaming dalawa parang ako pa ang mas matanda. Her hair is layered brown, which makes it different from my black shiny long hair, na kapag natatapatan ng araw ay nagkaka shade of brown. My eyes are deep black, while hers are dark brown.

Strangely were cousins, but very opposite in terms of appearance and personality.

Tinigil ko ang pamimili ng bagong babasahin saka lumapit sa sofa at kinuha yung box na nilagay nila. Sinira ko yung balot and when I finally saw what was inside the box, it made me smile only inside of me.

Yeah, I can't smile in front of anyone. I always control my emotions. I did smile before... but only to that one person.

I should not think about that person.

"You guys really know what I love."

I hold every part of the gun. The one I badly wanted to buy last month. Even though I have a collection of different kinds of guns, this one is different for me.
