I posted a status message of some sort on my profile regarding SPACES, please take time to read it, as I don't want to explain in another authors' note. Thank you! :)

Also, I strongly suggest that you guys start re-reading the story from the Discovery chapter (or a few chapters before that). I've been gone for too long and I think a little bit of back-reading would be of great help :)

I've decided to merge two chapters into one, and here it is.

Song of the chapter:
- When I Find You, I Find Me by Joshua Radin

TRIGGER WARNING!

Zayn Malik

The hospital was only a few blocks away from the accident. I sat in the back of the ambulance holding Louis's hand because it's the only part of him that I was allowed to touch while the doctors tried to check his vitals.

I almost stopped breathing when my hand felt a squeeze.

"Lou? Look at me. Please look at me." I held on tighter to his hand as his eyes slightly opened. All I know now is that he's alive and that I couldn't be more grateful for that.

"Stay with me, Lou. Don't fall asleep." I muttered, hoping for even the slightest response. Nothing.

His hand gave mine one last squeeze before his eyes were completely shut.

I stared at the doctors desperately, listening to the words I couldn't make full sense of, holding on to the hope that they could save my bestfriend's life. I couldn't speak, I couldn't seem to find the right questions to ask. All I wanted was for us to get to the hospital right away, make sure Louis's alive.

A few minutes after, we arrived at the entrance of the emergency room. They wheeled Louis's gurney into the room and the door was the farthest I could get. I waited outside, looking up at every nurse and doctor that would come out from the emergency room.

"Please tell me he's okay," Liam said as soon as he arrived, his eyes worried. I wasn't in the right state to explain to him when I called him. I was too dazed and all I could do was to tell him which hospital Louis was going to be admitted to.

"I'm sorry." I cried. He took me into his arms and hugged me, and only then did I realize that I never got to touch him like this after we've broken up.

"It's okay..." He comforted me when he doesn't even know what happened.

"It's not." I replied, my words muffled because of how I was leaning into his chest.

"Breathe, love. Breathe. It's not your fault." He was rubbing my back. And then I realized how much he trusted me. "Can you please tell me what happened?"

I can tell by the way that he holds me that he was careful with how he was talking to me. I had to compose myself before I started explaining. I knew someone had to tell him.

"He was drinking but you knew that already. I came to pick him up but you know how Louis gets with alcohol so he ended up with another bottle. I asked him about Harry and he told me why he left and I talked him into talking to him but I didn't know he wanted to do it right away. I tried to stop him, I swear I did, but he was stubborn and he didn't listen. He got into his car and drove away and I followed him, and I was closely behind him at the intersection when a car beat the red light and... It all happened so fast. The next thing I know, there was smoke everywhere, and people were shouting, and the guy was dead but then the police came and the witnesses told them that it was that guy's fault and I don't know what else happened, I just wanted to get him here as soon as possible. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry." I sobbed again.
