I haven't written chapter this long in a while (6,000 words! A record!), so I decided to put the entire wedding reception in here.
It's a heavy chapter. Idk how you guys would feel about it, but my heart hurts when it shouldn't.
Beware of POV switches on this chapter!!!
Song of the chapter:
-Still The One by Harry Styles (original: Shania Twain)
Gemma Styles
I had to wake up at six am. I wasn't born a morning person and I mean that quite literally. On the day that I was born, my mum went into labor in the morning and I only came out when the moon was out.
Now I had to be up early because mum put me in charge of the reception. It's a pain because if there's one thing I really hate, it's having to plan things. When they called me up to tell me about it I just wanted to fly to the other side of the world, but we already have an escapist in the family. I was done with that phase, and I have to admit that it can be exhausting sometimes.
I already hired a real wedding planner, but I still had to oversee the details. And I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's a relief that I can control this— at least they didn't have to come over to Harry's house that often just to check on things.
Louis, however, is probably still trying to make peace with the fact that we're using the entire area around the house, and I know how anxious it makes him.
"Don't worry. You don't have to worry about anything. You don't have to clean up after anyone because they won't be coming in here." I reassured him. Which was stupid because I know they will, but I couldn't tell him that because he'd be too nervous.
The entire thing doesn't make sense to me. My parents own a skyscraper, don't they? They have their own hotel. They can use every single floor of a building if they wanted to. But they're still doing this so the guests could feel "the happy family vibe". What I don't understand is why would Harry even let them have their wedding here?
Do they know that Louis's here?
"The boys will be staying here while we're in the chapel. You'll be alright." I reminded Louis. I reckon they'd be enough to keep people's eyes off Louis. It would be better if they stayed here rather than if they came with us to the chapel.
My mind couldn't stop running. I was worrying about the wedding and I was wondering about Harry.
"Lou. You haven't said anything since we came here. You okay? You look pale." Ashton asked Louis who was just sitting on the couch, staring blankly at the floor.
"Yeah just a bit tired, 's all. Early morning." He lied.
"Okay but you can take a nap if you want to. We got this covered." Ash tapped him on the back. He was snapped back to reality, but he didn't budge.
"I'm good. I'm okay." He told everyone. It's the first time he's actually seen everyone else since he found out and I can see that they were trying really hard not to make it awkward.
Honestly, it isn't. But there's a tension in the air that I couldn't place— like we're all nervous about something.
We all look pretty chill right now but I can sense that our minds are all running.
