"Look who finally decided to come home," Gemma said as soon as I entered my house. She has a bowl of oatmeal on one hand and her phone on the other. "I've been here all night and you've been MIA. Where were you?"

"Out." I told her. I'm not really up for a proper conversation right now but knowing Gemma, she's not gonna let this go.

"Okay. Spill." She crossed her legs and relaxed on the couch.

See?

"I was at Louis's." I confessed because really, there was no use lying to her.

"And I assume that you have a reason for it?" She took in a spoonful of her food before putting the bowl on the table. She crossed her arms.

"I do, but what happened wasn't part of the plan. Like, at all." I sat beside her.

"What happened anyway? And I don't even know what your plan is. I don't know why I came here but I figured you needed a bit of nagging 'cause Niall told me that you haven't been coming home lately." She said in her best mom-voice.

"Awh, here I was thinking you missed me." I faked a frown and gave her puppy dog eyes.

"H. Just tell me what happened."

Note to self: Gemma's immune to cute puppy dog eyes.

I sighed before actually telling her.

"The plan was to let Louis stay at Hannah's for two weeks, let him recover some of his memory, have the lads introduce us so we become acquainted, and then ask him to move to Liam's place afterwards until he actually remembers me. But then he saw me earlier and--"

"Wait, why the fuck would you do that?!" She asked, sitting uprightly.

"Because. He only remembers being with Hannah. I told you before, he doesn't remember me. So we decided to let him start where he left off." I explained.

"And Hannah is...?"

"His ex girlfriend."

"His ex girlfriend who cheated on him? With another guy? That ex girlfriend?" She asked, like she couldn't believe the absurdity of the situation.

I simply nodded at her inquiry.

"Please tell me that it doesn't get any more obtuse than this," she sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"I've been coming to Louis's place every night for more than a week now because he's been having nightmares and apparently only I can calm him down. We've tried it with Hannah before but it doesn't work so we figured it was best if I came over and held him until he's okay. He doesn't know because I always leave before he wakes up. He has a routine, so he always wakes up at the same time, one hour before he does, that's my cue to leave." I continued.
