Inspiration:

I met MyLittleFantacy after school and I didn't really want to start walking to the mrt station so she accompanied me "till where the sun touches the ground" - which was when the shelter of the lobby ended - and then she mentioned how it just sounded like she was going to walk with me till sunset, and that gave me a bit of a start for this poem, so here is a poem about friendship hurray :D

Ties.

Ties that bind and interfold perfectly

Harmonious melodies

Wave into wave like flowing tresses

The colourful checkered squares of marzipan folding into iced checker boards

Sugary sweet - but less so than you.

Your heart is a safe haven

In which I seek shelter and comfort

And you take me in as one of your own

mi casa es tu casa -

And likewise, I try my best to give the same unto you.

We are all pieces of composition

Eloquent and elegant - perhaps sometimes a little rough hewn

But through admiration and learning from

We praise the other's rights and correct the other's wrongs.

Life is all about learning, isn't it?

We learn from our friends, our family, everyone around us.

We learn from joy, deviation and heartbreak

And those lessons they stick with us till the end.

Thank you for all you've given me

The times we smiled and laughed together

The hugs we embraced and the jokes we've had

The times you would nudge me in knowing and secrets shared.

And these friends, they stick with us forever

You might drift apart inevitably as time passes

But you will never lose the times you had together

The times you felt the grin on your face pull at your lips so hard it hurt.

But it was a blissful joy - untouchable

Captured in memories and in the heart

Something no one will truly forget even if -

Even if one of us leaves this world sooner than the others.

These people that we meet

Are each one in 7 billion

And what are the chances that in this entire universe

That they would be the ones we met?

Infinite numbers of atoms in the universe

We could've been parts of constellations somewhere else

In the milky way, or far beyond

But instead we are souls living on this planet.

We are souls that met

And chose to allow our lives to intertwine and bind

These are the little miracles that we never really realise and simply take for granted

But they always blossom into the best parts of our lives.

These people who we never know our whole lives

But only meet later in time

Grow closer to us than even a sibling could and

You trust them with secrets greater than the stars, secrets you'd share with nobody else.

And the trust, a precious chain of gold that is formed

It is so delicate yet strong

It takes understanding and knowing and loving and caring

To be a friend and for people to get along.

You had the luck to meet them out of what could've been many others

You were born as the person you are instead of being somewhere else, far away

This miracle, or chance of fate

Is a firework, a spark, a beautiful thing in its own.

And so these people who you grow to love

And who grow to love you

They will be the ones walking with you till the sun touches the ground

And even far beyond that in the darkness of night, far till the end of time.

Those tunes that you used to hear as you danced together in fun-filled nights

Will bring back so much, when you hear them again years later

And you'll remember the thrill and the adrenaline in your veins

And how you loved those people so much more than your entire being.

And one hug you share is a healing remedy

A loving word or two will cure your saddest days

They're the people who will cheer you up

The people you'll always be willing to do anything for.

They're the lights in your eyes

The shining stars of heaven and utter complete love

The purest love is of friendship

And it is forever invincible.

A/N: So here is an update after so long hurray :D I actually got the inspiration for this after school went out about two weeks ago, but I never actually finished writing this till today because I kind of lost track halfway and didn't know how to continue. Oops. So I'm sorry this was kind of short, but I hope you like it anyway!
But thank you to all of you who have supported me so far - it really means a lot to me that you all actually read my stories and I love you all so much.
And CuteCookieMonster2, thank you for your comment a few hours ago (sorry I didn't reply, I was asleep - because timezones D:) which actually motivated me to continue writing this poem, and I love you lots.♡
